My 97 SX700 has 8071 miles on it. Never been opened. Yamilube since the day it was new. Still runs very strong. Runs almost even with my 04 Viper S until top end. It somtimes makes me wonder what's wrong with the Viper! LOL

dad had a 96 500 xt that had around 13k miles on it, and all he did was change the plugs
never touched ANYTHING, not even the jetting lol!! and always yamalube. thing still had good compression and I think he regrets selling it. hasnt really liked the sleds he has had since. problem with him is he is real short and all the newer sleds are to damn big for him lol!!! he loved the low and shrt cockpit of the old vmax

all, I had a 1990 phazer 11 that had 15,000 on when we sold it, still ran great! I had a 79 440 exciter with 21,000 when I sold that and it still ran strong. 99 SRX 700 has 9,950 and ran up to 122 mph (last Day of riding in Maine) on dream meter until crank bearing went two winters ago. All motors ran with yamalube, 100% of the time! I had one 95 vmax that had PSI twin pipes when I bought it, Ran great for 1 trip than scuffed a piston. Rebuilt and lasted two trips and then down again. rebuilt for the last time and put motor back to stock with stock pipe and ran for two years untouched and with over 5,000 great miles. Started out on Amsoil than went back to Yamalube after rebuild! I will never mess with any yammer motor again. stock has always ran great for me! Thanks Bluebullet

I have seen the same on a mm700, a guy from Wawa had it.
i have seen a 1992 venture with 15000km on the clock. the spedo key went out on it 7 years ago and it still runs like a champ. it actually gains compression at -40 celcius as my pull startind arm can attest to!

I think proper warmups before rideing your sled has more 2 do with longitivity than switching from yamipoo oil on a stock moter.

I can agree with that a lot. we always warm the sleds up real well before even moving them or touching the throttle. like 5-10 minutes, depending on how cold it is. once the running boards are good and warm I consider the sled warmed up. then the path that leads to the main trial is about 3.3 miles and I take it pretty easy on that, so when I get to the main trail I should be all warmed up nice.

i personally dont warm up my sled by letting it idle. i have always warmed up my sled by giving it throttle and playing with the choke while listening to the engine and how it is responding to what i do, i would keep it running at the highest rpms below engagement that the engine would do while playing with the choke. it all matters on how you do it yourself, my sleds were always reliable and never blew any plugs upon warm-up.

I always let my sled warm up for a good 8-10 minutes, just something i do
When i had my arctic cats and i kept having engine troubles with them, the dealer would always ask me if let it warm up for 5-10 minutes. So they convinced me to let my sled warm up no matter what now

9300 on the viper when it lunched the center rod bearing...it lives again thanks to some used parts from this A1 site!!!
one of our club members who is in his seventys, ran up his 99 v-max to 17000 miles before something let loose....Yammie replaced the motor under warranty!!!!!

one other thing....some of the engine gurus on here recommend re ringing @ 5000 miles or so due to the rings getting "soft".
when we pulled mine apart (9000+miles)I noticed the rings could be twisted like a pretzel and still wouldn't snap....FWIW.
