Pull your exhaust. Give it a shake. The baffles came loose in My 94 vmax.
It made it run very eratic. I did no see a reply if you disconnected your TORS.
Unplug it and connect the ends together.
Also try spraying fogging oil around your crank seals and listen for idle change.
Between this and the others you have tried, I would lean towards clutching.
Try to borrowing a primary and give it a whirl.

the exhaust is ok I think... I have 2 pipes here (one was just high temp coated) they both seem to be in good shape and neither made any difference in how it runs...
definitely not a tors issue same with it connected and disconnected and it will rev to 7500rpm, which I don't think it could with tors engaged it just sounds like crap and lacks power above 1/2 throttle
I already tried spraying around the case, seals and carb boots to no avail
swapped stator and pickup coil this evening out of desperation to no avail there goes 3 hours of my life I will never get back.....

It sounds like you gone through this machine from top to bottom but have made only one real change and that is to the driven clutch. Make it stock and run it.
Hi man!
Exactly how is your engine behaving when you give it throttle?.
If you have the track in the air and then blip the throttle, will it bog or will it rew imediately?.
If it`s a blown crank seal it will run crappy at low rpm, bogs just before engagement and if you give it more throttle then suddenly it will rew like hell.
I have a videoclip of how a 97 V-Max 600 runs with a blown crankseal, I filmed myself while I sprayed start gas onto the seals. In this case it was the magneto side seal.
If it`s not the stator or anything ignition related you might as well pull the engine and tear it apart?. I`d be going nuts if I were you.. .
I`d order a complete gasket kit, tear it apart and inspect everything and also re-ring while your in it.

it does rev on a stand just the same as it does if it is driven, it goes to 75-7600 rpm but really lacks power which makes the clutches react shitty which means it doesn't accelerate .... I am still thinking ignition related issue, but I have changed everything in the system already ... unless I have 2 bad coils or cdi boxes or something stupid ... I will figure it out yet....
I saw a post last year on a Vmax twin. The fly weights were severely damaged cause it not to Rev.

Have you tried flipping the choke on and off right at the throttle position where it runs crappy? If choke on or half on makes it run better after it is warmed up you have a lean condition, probably sucking air through one of the crank seals, went through this last year with my wife's 600 twin, ended up replacing both crank seals.
I guess you havent run it enough to read the plugs?. Incase, how do they look?.

starting to color, don't look bad, maybe a tad rich but it has been warmer out when I did run it

This is nucking futs! I did replace the plug boots with new ones as well just in case but I still can't get any top end out of this sled.... over half throttle it just doesn't want to make any power
Does anyone who knows sleds live close by me I will include gas and beer for qualified person to have a look at it... I am stumped.

yes but...
Did this machine come from a different altitude ...could you check the number stamped on the main jet ...lower your need jets, just for a quick test.

...also how's the condition of the reed valves?

Hey man,
I have a 96 vmax 600 twin thats in awesome shape and was running great and on my last run until i opened her out. I could only get about 125km/h out of her.
The response in the throttle up to about 3/4 was fine and she'd pull hard right up to 115km/h but after that when you put her to the bar the rpms would back off from 8200 to about 7600rpm.
It turned out that my clutch was completely shagged up. I had small cracks on the spider and the weights had a slight low spot that caused her to stick at that point when she was opened up.
Rebuilding clutch and should be finished tomorrow and all for the grand total of about $625.00

I have the same problem with a 1998 600. I am going to pull tha crank out and have it checked. I tried all the things that you tried with no luck. Dennis
How`s it going with the sled , ski ?
