Im going to try my viper with the new jetting i got And with The Vari-Flow off and see if theres much change.
And if that dosn't work ill try venting to the Atomosphere in the bulkhead

Thanks for the posts guys, everything is alot clearer now. im not having any problems with lean conditions or detonation so I will keep the sled like it is till i start to have problems with it.
Great topic guys. I used this trick for years on my old Polaris. I'd jet it perfectly for those -5C to -10C days with the vent lines connected. Then when the temps dropped below -20C, I'd just pull the lines off the air box and instantly go up 2-3 main jet sizes. Also effects pilot and needle, but to a lesser degree.
I learned this from couple of mountain riders. While riding the low alt trails to the base of the mountain they'd have the lines disconnected. 1/2 way through their assent they'd stop, connect the vent lines and then carry on their way up the mountain.
