Yep did my bracket reverse and flip thing.Ground some of the lip sticking out from the bulkhead so bracket sits flush.Put 1 washer under the lower hole of bracket.Ground some of the bracket down so shock won't hit it also.The angle of the shock is slightly changed sideways,but can move shock over enough to connect to trailing arm.There may be a little pressure on the upper bushing when doing this,but does not seem to severe.

Equalizer, I did the conversion about 1000 miles ago on my sled for the exact reasons you are thinking about it for your own. I found that it helps with ground clearance especially because I put on a skid plate that hangs down around the ski arms. Do it, it works great and does not sacrifice the ride or reliability of your sled!!!
