WARNING... help!.....HC weights came with incorrect setup info for srx

Greetings all. I wanted to perhaps bring to light somthing that has been plaging me, and perhaps many more as well. I purchased hc weights for the srx 2 years ago. after trying every set up that the hc techs offered on the call in line, and the ones written in the book, i was ready to give up. I either had a boggy sled or a over reving sled. nothing worked.
I called yesterday (friday am) one last time to ask the techs at hc what could be wrong. As it turns out a new revelation was brought to my attention. I was made aware by hc, that mid production of the hc in 2004, they changed the actual weight, and sent out weights that were different from the callibrations layed out in the instructions. this would explain a lot of my problems. except for i do not know what weights i have.
this is what i have.
stock srx weights with rivits weigh 52 grams
heel clicker weight supplied (piviting) without screws or washers 48.9 grams

hc told me a 40 10 weighs 56 grams
and the 40 20 weighs 64 grams
NOW IS THAT EMPTY OR WITH SCREW AND WASHERS?

I was further told by them that an srx will not pull weight greater than 65 grams without stalling the clutch.

They told me that here is their recommended set up

red spring button screw with 4 washers in heel(6 grams) 80 deg twist 47 helix
white spring 3 screws in heel 80 deg 47 helix

the problem arrises that the red set up weighs 55.3 grams
if you add a screw in the tip with 2 washers you are up to 60.2 grams

hc told me that the instructions supplied do not corispond to the wieghts supplied.

does this make sense? does this sound right? what should i do?
any help Tony or Turk. would be nice.
ps i now have a 50 36 helix.
Rob

I have a set of the 40-10 heelclickers. But they don't have the pivoting arm. They weigh 52 grams empty. Now I have a srx 780 but I run run spring 4.8 grams in the heel. Thats is there little bolt and all the washers they supply. I than run the 5 gram bolt in the tip middel hole empty. 50/36 helix and a green yamaha spring set at 60 and she really screams. I could probably run a bit more tip weight still though. Don't know if this help or not.

ROB, AGAIN I JUST STARTED TESTING HEEL CLICKERS. I TALKED TOO ALLAN, DON, AND MIKE (turk). I BOUGHT MY HEEL CLICKER USED. I BASISLY STARTED FROM SCRATCH. I WAS INPRESSED WITH THEM FOR RACING. I HAVE ONE MORE CHANGE I WANT TO TRY WITH GEARING. BEEN OUT TESTING ONCE WITH THEM IN MY 00 SRX.
I HAVE 40-10 Y
RED CLICKER SPRING
TOTAL WEIGHT I AM USEING IS 64.2
I HAD TOO NOTCH THEM FOR ENGAGEMENT. RUN THEM UNNOTCHED, ENGAGEMENT WILL BE 4500.
NOW I STARTED WITH A 45-41 ADVENT, RPM WAS STUCK ON 8150
I THAN CHANGED HELIX TOO 51-38, RPM WENT TO 8450. SLED FELT GREAT.
I DON,T KNOW WHAT 40-20 ARE. THE WEIGHTS ARE SET-UP EXACT WHERE ALLAN TOLD ME TOO START. HIS HELIX REC. UNDER REVED. I ALSO RUN MIDDLE EMPTIE. I DON,T FOLLOW YOU GUYS ABOUT THE PIVOTING ARM. 3:16 (tony)

[Q I DON,T FOLLOW YOU GUYS ABOUT THE PIVOTING ARM. 3:16 (tony)[/QUOTE]
I THINK THERE TALKING HAMMER TIME opens up a hole new can of worms!

maybe they sent me the wrong weights

Tony, i have the new hc that the heel where you put the screw and washers pivits forward with cyntrifical force.
my weight without anything on it weighs 48.9 grams vs everyone elses 52-56 grams. this is why they are hard to tune.
my dad is a scale tech for toledo scales, so weight has been acurately done.

so about your 8bu set up, im willing to by the parts if you are willing to share your findings.
ps hc weights for sale!!!

48.9 IS A EMPTIE 8BU. YOU SHURE YOU HAVE 40-10Y. MY HEEL CLICKERS EMPTIE WERE 53.2. I HAVE 8BU SET-UP IF THATS WHAT YA WANT. 3:16 (tony)

I baught a new set of HC's last year for my 2001 SRX. They sent me the 40-20 2 speeds. They have proved very difficult to tune. When I complained they sent me a set of 40-10's that had a whole different set of problems. I sent them back and kept the 40-20's because they are a lot closer to working for me. They weighed 66 grams originally. I've ground 4 grams off the tips of the main weight and they are closer to working but, not perfect. I see this year they are offering 38-10's and a 38-20's so I'm thinking I'm headed the right way. My nephew has a set of 40-20 2 speed that are a few years old that weigh 63 grams.
These things pull like crazy. Just can't quite get the RPM's right. :o|

Instead if grinding tip weight off just get a helix with a lower finish angle. Trust me on this one when you get the weight/helix combo just right it,s all worthwhile...but...you just gotta find the right helix. Most guys try to use one with too high a finish angle.

if yours weigh 60. im not sure what i have!

mine weigh 48.9, so what do i have? a 40 10 .....40 20.....38 10?
i know these things can work, but wht doesnt hc themselves have better r and d for their stuff?
thanks.... i now have 50 36 helix

The 40-10's that I sent back last year weighed 56grams empty.
I don't know what the 38-20's and 38-10's weigh as I have never seen them in person and wouldn't trust what Heel Clicker says they are.
I'm just providing information. Listen to Turk...he knows what he's telling you on set up.
