I am having a problem and hope someone can help me out.

I have a 98 sx and I am trying to put 2002 Viper Shocks in it. I purchased the shocks, radius rods and the tie rods. I remember someone on here saying that you need to put the radius rods and tie rods on with the shocks.

The viper tie rods appear to be almost identical in length, the bottom one are equal, and the top ones are about 1/4" longer on the Viper rods, and the hien joints are also wider on the viper rods. I changed the hein and the top radius rod has a rubber bushing in it, in the place of the plastic bearing on the sx, and the rubber bushing is to wide to fit into the trailing arm. The viper rod is also straight on the end and the sx is angled.

Please help me out and advise me what to do to correct this, so I can get this back together. I tried to attach pictures but have not been able to figure out how to re size the pictures to the smaller size required.

Thanks!

you bought the wrong stuff,
viper radius rods are not as long as sxr/venture/xt/xtc rods. the reason for this is the heim design is a little longer and the location they bolt to the bulk head is a little wider.

also the inside heims are wider.
you should cut and run from what you bought. sell them to someone with a viper. buy sxr radius rods. they will thread right in your heims and be the correct length.

sorry to see you spend money and time in the wrong direction.

Thank you for straightening this out for me. I was sure that the posts I remember seeing about long traveling said you need the viper radius rods with the shocks. The rods from any of these sleds will work? Do you know how much wider the rods and the tie rods are? Maybe I could make some aluminum rods. What would happen if I run the sx rods against the viper shocks, would this mess the geometry all up?

With the top of the viper shocks, all I need is the viper bushings, correct?

Thanks for the right up on the pro action in teq faq. I am in the process of going through that and applying the updates from your post.
