it can be done but not on a stock exciter. the port timing is far too low to take advantage of the srx pipes higher tuned rpm. carbs could work. you would need to make some twin carb adapters with large flanges to fit the srx carbs.

Only tried GPX pipes and 38s, phazer carb boots seem to work , and the boost bottle even bolted up

The Srx pipes are designed to run at about 9000rpms and the exciter motor is designed to run at about 68 to 7000 rpms so to make the pipes work right you will need to port the exciter to match the srx port layout , the exciters exhaust & transfer port are way low compared to the srx, it can be done but will take some work. The Gpx pipes may work but you will still need to do some port work. I have used the single pipe from AAEN on a few sleds and they work pretty good . You may wont to give AAEN a call and talk to them as they maybe able to help you out.

actually my 80 srx440 stock pipes run at 8000 rpm, aaen race pipes now it's at 10500
8800-9000rpm is where the stock 440 srx pipes make power at, if you look in your performance manual they say to run all srx440 from 76-80 at 9000rpm for peak power. 340 srx peak power is at 9200rpm.
The pipes wont work on a exciter without adding pipe length to lower the rpm range, the ignition system,porting,carb wont comply with high rpm use, it wasnt designed to in a exciter engine.

yes it says that in the race but that's after PORTING the srx's not stock porting, however youre right, it's still too high the way it is now...... porting of the exciter should make it closer when using stock pipes.
No, thats stock operating rpm, refer to the service manual of any srx440 and you will see that the operating rpm is 8800-900rpm, not 8000!!
when you port them and shorten the pipes 10mm, you run them at 10,200rpm!

Yes that is there for the 77 only, the 78 and up srx440s made way less power and at a lower rpm
