I don't see much changing for 2008 except for the Vector. I bet the Vector goes EFI and uses the Genesis Extreme chasis. The Apex isn't due for a change until 2009. Remember Yamaha has a 3 year program...

that HO apex engine would be great, it's like 182 HP in the bike but that has ram air and no gear reduction so that would make the HP right on the money, hmmm???

isnt that a peaky motor though? thought it was if I remember correct. with 6 gears it is pretty easy to live with, but on a trail it could be another story...MountainMax said:

cvt is better than a six speed. keeps engine in its powerband all the time.

true, and true, that motor does have more HP but less torque also, needs to hit the sweetspot and stay there forsure....
The 07 R1 finally has a 16 valve motor that should cure the peakiness issue the bike mags. bitched about. Must have been a brave man at Yamaha to finally make the decision to dump the 5 valve head that has been Yamaha's trademark feature since 85. Maybe the sled guys had some input into the specifications of that motor with their application in mind.
new sleds unveiled March but I'll try to enjoy this year first

Yeah I read it's a phazer type front end, genesis 120 motor and a modified rage rear half for racing, but im sure we could get one very similar.......
