Mountain Max 700 Bogging and Backfiring HELP!!

The Tors is Bypassed not disconnected, I put new plugs in and let it idle for awhile and took it up and down the street and then let it idle again then shut it off and checked all the plugs. The two closest to the clutch side were alittle wet and alittle black not much because there are brand new and the one farthest had a brown color to it and no wetness. So something is not right with those two plugs. I'm going to take the carburators out again clean them out and check the air jet too. I'm going to check the floats and sync them, never did that yet. Thanks bobby

Got the carbs out and boom I'm pretty sure no air is getting in that jet.

Took the carbs apart and found out that one of the main jets are different size then the other two. One is a 145 and the other two are 143.8, I took them all out at once thinking they were all the same and I'm not sure which cylinder that 145 goes into now? Also my fuel screws were at 4 1/2 turns out. I'm going to try the fuel screws back at 2 turns out and I took the air jets out too, they were really tight coming out so I'm not sure, when reinstalling them do you just make them tight or do you have to set them like the fuel screw? Thanks again for everybodys help

Now that you have the carbs out do it right,,,,put eveything back to stock
specs.,clean clean clean, make sure every thing is open and looks good,
i would sync your carbs too..check your reeds also!!!!!

PTO side is the fat side. try 1.5 turns on the fuel screw and the jetting is fatty rich from the factory. I ran 141.3's with a 143.8 on a 2000 SXr and as lean as 138.5's with a 141.3 on a 97 SX. They are both the same motor as your MM and leaning it out a bit helped with the infamous burble. Just a suggestion.

you have bad reed petals, pull the cages and replace if they arn't lying flat!

Well after taking the carbs out and adjusting them to stock specs. I found out that one of the cylinders would fire when it wants too, Went throught all the plugs took them out reconnected them and Now she ripping again. Went for a 40 mile ride yesterday with no problems. But new belt on and she squeels at idle and I think its too tight the belt is even with the secondary and My top speed was around 65 at 8400 RPMS. Gonna go for another ride and throw the old belt on and see what happends. Thanks everyone for all your help.
