Grand Marais snow usually sucks close to town or by the shoreline (4"-5" right now), Down by Testers sawmill the snow is about a foot now but looks like we may get a good dump by the end of the week. Really not a big deal because I have a good friend that lives just south of GM & always have a good time there & just dont get to see them as much as I would like. Talk about a lean snowfall year

gwinn got about 14" of snow the other day and its been very very cold here after the groomer went by, should be a very good base down right now.

rodneys is the best, i know the filizetti family well. I try to eat there at least 2 times a week....very expensive addiction. Have fun, ill look for you, i will probably be out riding, not sure yet. If you see a SRX 700 with an M10 in it wave, thats me.
Could be a good weekend to be in the area!
The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a lake
effect snow warning... which is in effect from midnight tonight to
11 am EST Saturday. The lake effect snow watch is no longer in
effect.
Heavy lake effect snow showers will develop late tonight and
continue into Friday night. Total snow accumulation is
expected to range from 9 to 13 inches... before the snow tapers off
late Saturday morning. The heavier amounts are anticipated over
higher terrain locations along and north of M-28. In addition to
the snow... blustery northwest winds developing late tonight will
result in areas of blowing snow... reducing visibilities further.
A lake effect snow warning means significant amounts of lake effect
snow are forecast that will make travel very hazardous or
impossible. Lake effect snow showers typically align themselves
in bands and will likely be intense enough to drop 1 to several
inches of snow per hour for several hours. Visibilities vary
greatly and can drop to zero within minutes. Travel is strongly
discouraged. Commerce could be severely impacted. If you must
travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
