help with installing ohlins extensions

Hi I just got a pair of ohlins without reservoirs and need to install the extensions i have no directions or ideas and do i need to have them recharged after or do they go on the other end any help is greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks Stan

the heim comes off of the end, and they go there, on the shaft. Maxdlx

i thought so but i can t get it off how do i hold the shaft???

The heims are loctited on,I had to heat them and use a tool that you put in a vice to hold the shaft without damaging it, advantage sells with the extensions they sell,I am sure there are other ways but it was a pane in the *** even with the proper tools.

Look at the bottom of the page - I think that's what you are going to neew to hold it.

find a lowes or home depot, and look for a piece of 1/2 by 2 aluminum flat bar. Drill a hole in it exactly the same size as the shaft or a tiny bit smaller. Then cut it in half right throw the center of the hole. Put the shaft in the hole, put the bar in a vice crank it down, and use heat to get it off. The end of the heim has a piece in each side that will come out, and a rubber o ring on each side. Maxdlx

Thanks for all your help, extensions are on and shock installed I used wood drilled it out, cut it in half and a little heat went a long way! Thanks Again Stan
