I just bought a 700 sxr tripple motor and I was woundering what was the difference between the two motors. SRX and SXR. I know the cylinders are different, but what about the base and ignition. Did yamaha build a completely different motor? Thanks Dean-o

SRX and SXR are entirely DIFFERENT. I don't even think they share the same spark plug.

Srx comes with powervalves, triple pipes, and whole lot more horsies...... I'm sure there's way more differences internally, but external differences are the pipes, powervalves and blue heads.
Srx has triple pipes, powervalves, individual heads, and 00 and newer had the new ignition. you could say it is a much more sophisticated motor than the sx w/ a single pipe, 1 piece head, and no powervalves.
differnt bore and stroke, yes, completely differnt engine, nothing interchanges on them
