Well i have a 94 vmax 600, and the bushings, sheaves, rollers, and weights are all junk in the primary. Replacement parts for all of that is quite a pretty penny. A little over $200. I was wondering if a clutch off a 97 srx would work on this sled? Im pretty sure both of them are set up for a 30mm taper crank. Am i right on this? Im also looking to get some more launch rpm and performance out of it. Any help or suggestions is appreciated guys. Thanks!

they didn't make an srx in 97 to my knowledge, maybe your thinkin sx?Even then I dont think the clutch would work.Find a used one in good shape for your sled or rebuild your old one with a stiffer primary spring for engagment and whatever else your seeking.

Yamaha didn't make an SRX in 97. The SRX 600 & 700s (triples) came out in 98. You are right in the the clutch would fit on you crankshaft, but you would still have to change clutch weights to make this clutch work with you 600cc twin. With the purchase and setting up of that clutch, I don't know if you would save any money. Plus how many miles on the other clutch and what are the bushing like on that clutch. You could be looking at a bigger headache than you already have. At least if you rebuild your clutch, you know what you have in the end. Hope that helps. Brad

I beleive fishx65 or one of his friends has a primary from a 97 700 sx. I would PM him and ask a few questions. I put a secondary from a 96 XT on my 94 Vmax 600 ST

BRAD69 do you currently own all of these sleds? What an awesome collection it must be!! :2strokes:

Yes I do Own them all, but some need alot of work. Some don't I will up date that soon I have picked other also. Some are just trailer queens and are just great to look at. Brad

well now im just wondering about the spring, it has 30# preload stock. what is a safe jump? i was looking at around 35 or 45#. just want it to launch at about 4500-5000 rpm and stay in the powerband good.
