Are the T-arms on a 1997 vmax SX700 the same as on a 2000 SXR700? Coloris not important, just want to know if the shorttravel arms will work on a long travel SXR.

I'm 95% certain they are different caster angles. Try searches. I think its been posted. If not I can look it up tonight.

From what i've read the caster angle is only slightly ( 2 degrees) different so it would hardly be noticeable

Your right 23.5 vs 25.5.. If it did not make a difference they would not have made two of them. I think two degrees caster is a lot of change. At least in a car. MM had a different shock mounting bracket angle also.

Yea you are right.. But its not a rubber tire on asphault trying to over come the tire patch. Its a 2.5ft long ski right? 2degree is still around 10%....SNAKEBIT.. said:but most cars have 7 or LESS degrees of caster, so 2 degrees is more than a @ 25% change
You maybe right that you might not be able to tell but I bet it will steer differently maybe imperceptably. I would just not mix one side to side.

Thanks for the input, the guy who is buying them needs the pair anyway and he's just looking to fix his wifes sled cheaply.

Another note is the cheap aftermarket ones are one size fits all. http://www.hiperf.com/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ehiperf%2ecom%2facatalog%2f&WD=trailing%20arms&SHOP=%20&PN=Online_Catalog_Trailing_Arms_266%2ehtml%23a468_2d215#a468_2d215
so I wonder what you are getting? I did mix a cheap one with a deluxe one after my wife crinkled one.
