Buddies XLT 600 is smoking headlights right and left. Is there a regulator or condensor or something I should check out? I dont see any bad wires to the headlight or brake light. Anyone? Thanks

got to be a rectifier or regulator there some where! He is getting too many watts to the bulb via rectifier, regulator. Yamaha has them under the right foot well (atleast on the 97's) I think Polaris has a parts finder like Yamaha go there web page look up the part.

Its not wattage its voltage thats killing bulbs. Find the regulator its the culprit.
Thats what I was thinking thanks guys.

The voltage regulator on that should be located right above the right footrest. Kinda behind and below where the ingition switch is (if it's the wedge chassis).

P = I x E (Power / watts = Intesnity / amps / current x Electromotive force / volts) , in essence watts is the product of volts times current, so in all reality both of you are correct.
