My track is pretty beat up and worn, I don't want to put a track on it this year, simply because I don't have the time, and place to work on it over the winter, and I Don't want to miss any riding. So Want to throw some studs in the track for this year. Will 1.25" work without any mods?

Also just as a question, next year when I change the track out, Will a 1.25 Ripsaw work ok on this sled?

I have a track with 1" lug and 1.080 studs this fits no problem. The only mod is the tunnel protecter and front heat exchanger guard. Both are easy to make. I bought my tunnel protecters from royal distributing ($20) And made my front guard from a peice of flat bar 1"x 1/4 . Its all pretty easy if you take the time to look at it. I never had a problem with mine yet. My sled is an sx I dont think it would fit much more than an 1 1/4. I hope this helps.

I know on my 97 xtc the track deflection is 1.18. So like michael150 said you may have to do a mod or 2

remember, if your tack is beat up already it might not be able to handle the extra stress of studs. Depending on the condition of the track you could blow it on a long fast run. If the track is the original then yeah 1" would be as long as I would go.

Hey moss if your track is in rough shape, just have fun riding it this year without studs. Then next year take a look at the ice ripper track. I believe the studs are built into the track paddles. I would not go with more than 1 inch. If you do research your options for mods.

Thanks Lads...Thats what I'll probably do, just ride the heck out of er this year, and plan on swapping it out next year. Its not too bad on the hard pack, but when your in Loose Fluffy snow, breaking a trail, man its a pain.

I am running a 1.25" ripsaw on my 97 vmax 600 sx. No problems so far. the track was studded when I bought it, but I opted to remove the studs.

i have a .5 lug track with 1.25 studs. no problem, just keep the track from gettning too loose and i dont know if i even beleive that, right now my track is skipping under very hard acceleration and my centr shockis all the way loose with transfe rods at full transfer and im still not hitting anything with the 1.25 studs
