Best mod for $500ish

I have an 03 700 Viper that I've purchased a 144" track with 2" lugs for. I'm also raising the bars 2 inches, dropping 1 gear in it and putting a mountain strap on it. I will have about $500 left over after this work is done and am wondering what the best mod would be for this price.

I primarily ride in deep snow but do my share of trail riding as well. If possible, I'd like to squeak a little more power (throughout the entire range) out of my motor but don't know if I can do much with $500.

Any ideas?

Clutching, clutching, clutching.. Get the heel clickers and PM Turk for the set-up. You will have about $350 into them with primary weights springs and helix.

Also if you like to do lots of off trail, you can put the $150 you have left into a taller riser than 2", That will require new cables and brake line if it is a stock short track. Is this a regular short track viper you are converting or a mountain?

Try and find a good used set of SLP pipes. They go for about $500 in good shape, and really wake a Viper up!
Other good mods for deep powder are a set of the 05 and newer Yamaha mtn ski, and a set of flow-rites for the dash.

Get a good clutch set-up with stock parts, it will cost you next to nothing, use info on this site, or ask for help.
Spend the other $425 left on loose women & boose!!!!

This is a stock short track Viper I'm converting so if I wanted to extend the bars more than 2" I'd have to get the extensions. That's kind of why I only bought the 2" setup becuase it would be cheaper and easier (since no other parts are needed).

If your mountain riding your gunna want more than a 2inch riser cause you'll be standing more than sitting.(At least your should be) I trail ride and started out with a 1inch and wasnt close to satisfied, 2 inch wouldnt cut it either. So I went with a 4 inch risers just for the simple fact that I stand more than sit WHEN I have the Bar Height. Way more comfortable now.

If you are handy enough to covert the sled to a 144 you will have no problems changing bars and cables. Get pricing from Rich Motorsports for longer cables. It is well worth the investment, I would go to at least a 4" rise additional if you are long tracking it. Just be careful to get the oil pump cable hooked up right, that would be an expensive mishap!

A used set of pipes still goes for $500? When piping lots of other things need to go with it. Engine Torque limiter, re-clutch, re-jet, rear cooler. I know the CPR pipes need a head mod, but not sure on the other brands. Pipes really make those things rock. When my buddies first bought their RX-1s the piped viper just ate them alive, the excuses flowed.

taller bars aside, my vote would go to a Boss highrise flat top seat. The power of the pipes is nice, but comfort will pay off at the end of every ride. I never used to think that a seat would make that much difference.......but now my whole riding group has them.

My advice it the Drive sprockets from Whal Brother (Extroverts). I have added them to my 2000 SRX then to my 2004 RX Warrior. The rolling resistance is just about gone. I set my two sleds at 2" of track deflection at 20 lbs pull on center of track. I gained very close to 10mph with just those sprockets. If you get a chance judge for your self and you will see and feel the difference. You will definetly need your brakes working good. Brad

LOL!
As far as mods for the pipes goes. If your riding the mountains, all you really need to do, is add a rear cooler, and clutch/jet it (piped specs) for your elevation.
Detonation isn't as much of a problem, as it is for the flat land/lake racers.
