The best place I hear is to the tailight. And have wire go under seat to the front where seat meets gas tank and have plug end at that point under the flap tucked in.What wire do I tap into there,is it a blue wire and ground to a black or green wire.Haven't taken seat off yet.

There is an open 12v in the handle bar under the pad. I leave a pigtail hang out of the pad on the brake side about 1 inch.
I tapped into the blue wire on my 98 under the seat and fed it up between the tank and seat like you said.I feed the cord in side my coat from the shield down to the plug that way it's out of the way and not getting snagged.

i wired mine into my handwarmers under the handle bar pad... the warmers still get blistering hot (they finally burnt through last night... i had them cranked being so cold out)

ya, the blue /white wire going to dimmer switch is your feed, I would personally ground it to the handlebar clamp bolt.

well the electric visor works super.Wore my glass's also and no fogging up.I think if you wire it to your handwarmers, when you turn down the temp, doesn't that also effect power to visor daman.

Careful using the handwarmer curcuit for accessories. The headlight curcuit (blue wire)is 12V regulated AC and a safe place to connect. I wired a heated facemask into the hand warmers and all was well until we turned off the handwarmers. The voltage was not regulated and it melted the face mask. The model of sled you are working on may not use an unregulated feed for the handwarmers but if it was me, I would put a meter on it before connecting anything to it.

The white/blue wire of the dimmer switch was easy to get to and works just fine.but I would never go to the handwarmers at all.
