loosen the limiter straps or just go the distance and buy adjustable transfer rods. they work pretty slick dont need tools to adjust them either.

There is coulpler blocks on yamahas....they are in fact the transfer rods.Stock rods it could be as easy as switching the shimes large top to the bottom and smaller to the top to open the gap more as you do with blocks.Or cut the shim down with a saw if it is the 1/2 inch top shim on your sled.
take the rods off, it will wheelie. Maxdlx

can you take the transfer rods off without doing damage to the sled
Do not remove transfer rods, you will damage front of skid frame and the track. Buy the adjustable transfer rods, I have a really nice set on my 99 SX and run them as loose as possible all the time. Very good weight transfer forward and aft. Softer feeling suspension also.

what would happen if you remove the stock thick white plastic washer above the grease nipple

If you removed it you will have more transfer but there will be a clanking sound from the metal washer stop pounding on the rod holder. You need a very thin one for it to cushion the blow.
You can also cut a little off the metal nuts that jam together to increase the total amout of travel.
If you want the skis up, loosen front shocks preload all the way, loosen limiter straps all the way, set front skid preload to 3/4, set fra to soft, set transfer to max. It will lift the skis, but you wont make it down a trail.

You could always just leave it stock but ride around with a fat chick hanging off the back!!

will those adjusters fit on a 500sx???
I made rods for mine like on tec pages they work good but i work at a mech shop. so it was easy. And 1 1/4 track w/o studs on my 00 sxr 600 it will stand on the bumper if you want.

OK, so i cut the washer down thinner but i want to get even more transfer. i have to options i can think of. I was going to take the bottom part of the transfer rod off and cut off 1/4" or 1/2" off on both sides.<---the steel part and my other option was to put more washers underneath the big bottom white washer. Would any of these ideas work or are they bad ideas. I need to know soon because im taking my sled to a nice heated garage tomorow for a tune up. Thanks

cutting that down should work, I would try a little at a time. Others on here said they have transfer rods open all the way but when I open mine that far i can't keep the skis down corner to corner in the trails. I only adjust mine open to do some racing- straight line. don't let lack of transfer fool you, maybe you need better track or more studs???
