I was running this weekend and my sled's temp light kept coming on. It was icy but cold approx -20c . My sled is 03 sxviper all stock except for mbrp can. can anyone tell me if this is normal. The fluid seems to be circulating ok. coul d it be a bad temp sensor or a bad thermostat. looking for ideas.

Do you have the rear cooler,you said icy but was there much powder?
and

sounds like daman has it. those vipers need the cooler with low snow.
when in icy condition pull over and throw some snow on the tunnel foot boards for cooling.....

no i do not have the rear cooler. no ther was no powder. i went out the next day and there was lots of powder and the light did not come on except for when i got back to trailer and left the machine running to load on trailer for about 5 min and the light came on once i put it on the trailer. how much is this rear cooler and can i get it from my yamaha dealer tanks

check ebay out a srx cooler will work,look for a used one, or ask here
