Well, glad to hear there is finally snow for you way up north! My winter ended last September when I got activated to Ft. Benning to train Infantry recruits. It could be worse (that's what I keep telling my wife and daughter) even though they didn't move down with me. Hopefully everyone stays safe and keeps the track-side down.
I've got some vids from training the we do with the little morons as well as some pics at my myspace page.

DS Payne that is quite a display of firepower. The m240 is that belt-fed from a can? How long does a barrel last at that rate? Are the grenades used by our forces the same as they were 50yrs ago? Dumb questions from a life-long civilian.

For one thing, your questions are more appropriate than the ones I get from the recruits. That saying "There's no such thing as a dumb question" is a load of BU!!SH!T.
The M240B is a belt-fed fully automatic weapon. We now use metal link belts. At the rate we were firing, we change barrels every 200 rounds. The barrel change takes 3 seconds. The M-68 fragmentation grenade has a smooth, green, round, case and is identified with a yellow band around the top. So the pineapple grenade is gone. The hand grenade has a larger killing radius than the M-203 grenade lanucher mounted under the M-16. So, the next time you throw one I don't recommend watching it go off.

Throw one! HaHa. I would like to but I might be just a little past the age requirements for the military.
