SRX racing numerous sleds with sad results

Over the weekend I was at work and a bunch of friends were going out ton the lakes to fool around and run a couple races. The sleds there were:
99 Srx
02 Srx
05 F-6
05 F-7
07 Apex
07 MarkZ 1000

Sorry to say the f-7 beat everything, not just beat them but killed them from dead stops to starting at various speeds next was the Srx but a poor showing and what the hell is up with these four strokes they are supposed to be neck and neck in the speed category with the z having the slight edge. Bottom line is does it seem right that a bone stock f-7 blew the doors off all these sleds and speed wise how is the srx supposed to compare the apex, In my disappointed opinion the Apex is a slouch and a joke or was there something drastically wrong. :letitsnow
 
i thin a well clutched srx 00-02 can run like an apex but, the apex is not slow! i have one now and have had several srxes and the apex it more powerful! dont see how a stock f7 can beat a apex or mach z.. raced different f7s with my last srx 700 and somethimes i lost the holeshot but after about 60 mph i started pulling away!
 
SRX CAME IN SECOND AND THATS SAD RESULTS ? F-7 FAST SLEDS. THEY WIN ALOT OF RACES. IMAGINE WHAT THE GUY WITH THAT MACH FEELS LIKE. 3:16 (tony)
 
Yeah thats what we said imagine spending the money they did on the apex and machz and lose I would take it bad!!!! But I guess they did they packed up and went home pretty quick with their tales between their legs. I am thinking about buying an apex and selling my 01 SRX with an m10 and reverse and an 02 with an expertx also with reverse but i hate to part with them to be beaten on the lake by lesser sleds!!!!
 
my buddies stock f7 with the race box runs neck and neck with 780 srx's and viper 780's.

DUDE I HAVE AN STOCK (2000)SRX700 AND MY BUDDY HAS AN F7 AND WE RACE ALL THE TIME I KICK HIS *** 90% OF THE TIME SO HE TOOK IT IN TO GET TUNED AND I STILL BEAT HIM
 
i had my sled geared down to 21-40.. 8bu00 weights black hauck spring. 51-43 helix green spring at 70 degrees twist.. i had several different setups but this worked pretty good!
 
Marty F I like what u have to say, I know I have an 01 that is as fast as anything my sled was not there but an 02 was there that runs with my 02 and unfortunately he got smoked bad!!! We can't lose to a cat and he does say it is stock???
 
ahh yes, the good old saying " its all stock..." if theres one thing I have learned from snowmobiling is they are never stock after they come home from the dealership!

theres guys on these forums who claim they have stock sleds too, the only thing stock on them is the hood! dont be sucked in by the BS!

Its all about set up guys, the guy with the best set up wins!!

No reason you cant beat a f7 with a srx, especially on a lake, but unless the sled is set up for the paticular kind of racing your doing, its all a crap shoot as to the winner.

DON WILL HOLLAR AT ME BUT POWERPACK THATS A GREAT SET-UP. LOVE IT. BEAT A ZILLION SLEDS WITH MY 00 SRX WITH 8BU,s. NOW I HAVE THAT IN MY 02. 2000 HAS A SECRET WEAPON. lol. right don. 3:16 (tony)
 
I was the guy riding the f7 its not mine but i went up to the guys on the apex and mach z and told them i wanted to see how much they could beat me by to see the difference between them and the 700....was i shocked when the z was at least 10 to 12 lengths behind, and i couldnt see the apex, the run was about a half mile and it was from 40 mph the guy on the skidoo gave the signal to go we raced twice with the same results, im not a cat guy i want an apex but im shocked at what happened the cat did 115 on the dreamometer but the z should do 125 dont know about the apex.
 
another thing if the f7 wasnt stock why wouldnt the owner even go over to race them he thought hed loose so i volunteered to go and get beat on his sled instead, still a yamaha lover but still confused. have a good one.
 
That exactly how it went down, Scott and I decided we must go Apex to keep up on the rough trails I luv the SRX's as I have two with a pretty penny in both but this day confused us both!!!!!
 
yes yammiegod, i love this setup, it works great and pulls hard! and no need to fine tune, once its in and rpms are right, no issues!!
