im working on a 98 srx 700 for a guy and it wont rev out it will rev to 6800 and thats it. i cleaned the power valves and the carbs and sinked them and still the same can anyone help please thanks
How does it sound when you pin it?. Does it run "clean" or will it burble/hesitate?.
Could be ignition related.
My brother in law`s MM700 started behaving somewhat like that, but sometimes it would rew all the way out and sometimes it wouldn`t.
Here`s a videoclip of how it run:

Turned out it was a bad stator, or, I still haven`t got the new one so I can`t say for sure, but I`m pretty sure it is the stator because I can visibly see that it`s "bad" (melted/burned isolation on the coils, bare wires).
Just a wild guess.. .

Could be as simple as old fouled plugs??? did you put a NEW set in? Not many particulars about the problem so it's just a wild guess.

maybe a leaking base. these motors are known for this, you have to pull the motor to fix this problem.
check the crank runout also. it shouldnt go past 5mm on an un welded crank.
