anyone put a cat skid in a mm?

im tired of the heavy wheight of my m10.. i want to install a m series 141 skid i lifted the back of a 1000 162 and could not beleave it....i would like to if any special brackets need to be made also...

I would bet that one of the reasons it felt lighter, is due to the extra leverage you have with the extra length. Most of your mass (gas tank,seat,motor and most of the rear skids components) is still towards the front of the sled but you gain leverage by adding the extra length to the tunnel. Just my two cents, and thats probably all Im worth!!

Cat Skid

I used a cat skid in a mm. Worked good in powder but was not the best in trail chop but it was much lighter than stock. The one I used did not couple. Its my understanding that the one to have for mountain riding is the version that does not couple. For all purpose riding the one that does couple is prefered. Yes, I had to make drop brackets and since the Cat skid is a little bit wider than the Yamaha I had to shave the front width and build the drop brackets so they were a little offset. Good luck.

Two same cc sleds from the same year, the longer one will always feel lighter in the back end, even though it is heavier.

Put a cat skid in a MM. The 136 M series skid was 51lbs compared to the 78lb yamaha skid. Weigh you M-10 and compare if it is worth it.
