BR9ecs?

the ECS has a heavier ground strap ( conducts heat better)

I ran BR9ES untill I added Nitrous, now I have BR10ECS,
and BR10EIX was also recommended as an even "better" plug for my nitrous.

so.. ECS is recommended and is a safer/stronger plug to run, but cost more.
Many people run BR9ES in the srx with no issues, but I am no expert on plugs.

If you are using the correct starting procedure in your srx and it is setup properly you will NEVER foul a plug no matter what exact plug it is. Use the br9ecs, they conduct heat away much faster from the combustion chamber and resist detonation. Very good plugs.

May have posted this in another thread but....

I had BR9ECS and fouled the plug in the cylinder next to the clutch.

then installed BR10ECS (all three)and was running the trails and poof fouled the same cylinder.. this was less then 200ks after new plugs were installed

Any thoughts as to why? I dont want to keep changing the plugs and could it lead to larger problem??

Have you cleaned your carbs and cleaned and adjusted your powervalves?

Just picked the sled up a few weeks ago (got it form a machinist who babied this thing, SPOTLESS , show room looking condition all around) and I took one of the valves off (exhaust can side) and cleaned it (only because it seemed like black oil was leaking out between the black ring at the end and the final metal housing)<-- is this normal and I cant seem to figure out how to get it tighter to the housing to stop the leak.

As for being mechanically inclined.. I am not soo much. I do have a factory manual and have access to a barn/garage so I am able to try and work on her..

I have read tons of threads on this and the HCS sight and am feeling like such a NEWB! as most of it is SO Technical.

When I get back home I will get in there and do what I can to clean and adj the valves and the carbs

She runs pretty good though crisp and has wicked torque

Haven't hit a lake yet so I dont know what top speed is. Only been 145KMh so far so I am not sure if she is running as she should top end

Rambling on sorry

another thought and question though
ON my year model,, the PV servo is really close to the heads.. The seller mentioned that this was an issue.. and that most guys change the position to farther back by the air box.. could this have an effect on things and ow much to change it?

Thanks for the input

Cheers

its not that the ecs runs better, its that it is more guaranteed that it will STAY running. The ecs are extra insurance against detonation in an engine that is closer to the ragged edge than most other yamaha's of late. Premium and ecs plugs aren't necessities in anything, but when someone burns one down the first thing they should be saying is "damn, i shouldn't have cut corners"
