Quick Electrical Question
Riding my 700SX last night, I noticed the gauges were getting dim headlight seemed ok on highbeam - but maybe not. Once I switched to lowbeam everything was back to normal, gauges and lights were very bright. This morning, on low beam everything seemed fine - but on high beam it looked like the gauges and headlight were totally out.
Before I start tearing things apart, May this just be a short in the switch or wiring harness - or something more sinister (stator)?

first thing I would check is the wiring harness that goes under the motor. The wires rub through causing a short.
