I've got a 2000 600sxr and its real doggy in the bottom end. Im getting ready to rebuild the top end. does anyone have or has ridden this sled? If so whats the holeshot normally like on this sled?

Sounds like a typical SXR straight from the factory. I would start by playing with the fuel screws a little (turning them out in small increments). One mod I would recommend is the reed stopper notch, but you can go with spacers. One other thing to do would be to thin the head gasket by 1 or 2 layers. A simple and cheap clutch setup can be had with a few searches of this board. All of these mods will cost you nothing other than clutching and that can be had cheap. I did all this and it made the sled much peppier (if that's a word lol) on the bottom end and midrange. I didn't have any reliability issues at all (head gasket last over 5,000 miles until I had to tear the top end down and accidently damaged one of the gaskets (dropped it, stepped on it and put a crease in it). The mods were completely trouble free and like I said they wake the bottom and midrange right up.

what would be a good clutching setup? Im not too worried about top end, im more of a holeshot guy!
