If you add the correct tip weight you should be fine and it will perform correctly and well, changing back to the 51/43 now wont make anything better. The 54/42 will be fine, it will upshift slightly faster and backshift will be better, the more shallow a helix is on the finish the better it backshifts, and the less rear secondary spring tension is required as the shallow finsih clamps the belt more, less secondary spring pressure will result in greater topend speeds. You will just need the added tip weight to keep from over revving.
There is 1000 ways to clutch something and you will usually come up with the same overall topspeed set up and rpm doing it multiple ways, BUT, one set up will do something better then other will at some point, either it be quicker, better backshifting, or more effiecent running. This is what testing involves and is all about.
I give out numerous clutch set ups all the time, Turk and others do as well, if you guys only had even a slight inclination as to the amount of time involved to get that set up dialed in took, youd understand why the frustration comes into play when someone says it doesnt work, and usually 9 out of 10 times its the wrong parts or wrong installation. Some people want everything given to them, well sometimes you have to work to get something, if you get a clutch set up and your even within 2-400rpm of the goal, then that person just saved you about 20 hrs worth of testing and you only have some minor adjustments to be spot on. Dont take this as I am picking on you its a general statement about all not 1 person.
Guys need to go out and TEST,TEST,TEST, keep notes, this is how you know what you have tried, what you have tried and the results. This way if you go the wrong way(and you will) you can always go back and start over, its a never ending thought process, just when you think you have it perfect you try something else and the sled gains alot.
