I love my Yamahas but wtf..

I can't stand Yamaha's accesories and parts delivery I order parts and my dealer typically doesn't carry hardware or is always out, I've waited a month for two ski bolts and my brand new Yamaha race jacket had a broken zipper the second time i zipped it and that has been gone for over a month. so why did I buy a 150 dollar jacket so I could'nt wear it. What is the deal with slow deliver of parts and accesories my dealer is in southern WI not gonna say who but is it just the dealership or what's going on, when I buy stuff I want to have the dealership behind me and they always say it's on back order :o| :o| :o| :o| not happy
 
PM me and tell me what dealer. I have had a lot of similar problems with dealers in southeastern wi as well.
 
that's partly because a lot of the dealers are new and don't want to sit on $1,000,000 of inventory so we can get a bolt or washer or bushing without waiting for it.
 
Sounds like you need a new dealer. My dealer in Owen Sound treats me fairly well. Whenever i need parts they are typically in in 2 days. Prices are typical dealer prices for Canada... Not the best but far from the worst, and they know me by full name now (not a good thing lol).
 
go to port yamah there the best dealer around.You can oreder stuff over line to and it's 16%off.

I was going to go that way but shipping was a killer($15) that took the price to same as my dealer plus i would have had to wait a week..

Same here my dealer is great, 2-3 days TOPS and parts are here and
there the right parts too,75% of the time he has them on hand too..
 
you too? the parts and service guys here in sudbury know me by name and are always wondering where i get the info i get off of here. drives them crazy some days when i go in for parts.

LOL..same here too, and if i put in a bigger order(more than say 5 P/N's)
they give me 10% off or on a high price item(like bibs or a coat)
 
Dropped one of those plastic weight washer the other day changing weights.........looked for an hour, called the closest dealer (30 miles). Something I think they all should have a 100 of..................didn't have a one, 7 days to get one.
Called another dealer (60 miles), much smaller, he had 50, mailed to me, got them the next day.
In the mean time, took a air gun, a puff of air and it came flying out. At least now I have a bigger stock than the nearest dealer.
Tell your dealer your not satisfied and find another.
 
Plus the smaller dealer was less expensive and just sent a bill, said he trusted me to send the check.
 
I can attest to the long time it takes for Yamaha garments and accessories to arrive.
Last summer I had an '06 YFZ 450. I ordered a set of GYT-R nerf bars and it took over a month for them to arrive. When I called the dealer after 2 weeks they said to me, "its going to take a while, the nerf bars are coming from California". To me thats total BS. I ordered a pipe from Yoshimura, which came from southern California and it got here in about 4 days. About a week later the nerf bars arrived and I was not happy when the tag on them indicated that they were shipped from a warehouse in central Wisconsin.
This fall I ordered a pair of snowmobile bibs from the local Yammie dealer. I waited 2 months and finally called the dealer to see what was up with my bibs and they told me, "they have been discontinued". Needless to say, I was not happy.
I personally dont blame the dealer though, I blame Yamaha. All the dealer can do is order the stuff, its up to Yamaha to make sure the stuff gets there.
I wonder if maybe Yamaha waits untill a dealer orders a certain amout of items before sending them a shipment. I know a lot of people who have complained that it takes forever for the stuff they order to arrive (from various Yamaha dealers), so I dont think its a case of a bad dealer.
 
It is annoying that little is in stock at my dealer (Highlands) but I do like the dealership and the way they treat you there. You cant blame them for not stocking parts especialy if they have to discount them all the time. People arent as loyal as they used to be and dealers cant be run like a wharehouse or they will go under.
 
The dealer I use just moved in to a new location in the northern Wayne co area here in Michigan and if they don't have something I need it is ordered and there in 4-7 business day's. Ya not a rush type of delay but that is fast enough for most items. With as many different parts required for our sleds you can't ask a dealer to sit on a bunch of inventory just in case we need it unless it is a high movement type of item. It does not make business sense.
 
Well my dealer who is Wildwood Motorsports here in Winnipeg has always treated me well.They are a smaller dealer but realize the customer is important to them.If I order anything Monday mornings,parts are usually in Thursday noon.And they are open late most nights so it is not a problem pickings parts up after I finish work.I have spent alot there in the last 2 seasons.They know me pretty good now.Usually they give me 15% of the retail now.They are always trying to get me to buy the Apex,maybe one day they will.

Sorry to hear you issues with your dealer. I have a small town dealer that is absolutley awesome. They follow Yamaha's technical schooling procedures to a tee and when setting a sled up they are bar none. I think that's one reason my families Yamahas run SO good. Not to mention their excellent service and great delivery and promtness on parts ordered. There should be an award link here for great Yamaha dealers 'cause mine is that good.

The dealer at the cottage is only good to buy new machines from or to rent sleds, Other than that i woundnt trust them , even simple parts that ive ordered from them take way too long.
The one in town is a little better but they still know very little about things like clutching, and aftermarket parts. Many times parts that i ordered from them were not in stock and he couldnt find the parts # and in 50% of the time its me that gives them the right part #
Ordering from the states is cheaper but can take forever to receive the parts.
