hi guys,
today a friend and i went for a short ride on the lake. he just bought a 03 ZR 900 snow pro edition arctic cat. his new sled runs great. out of the hole his sleds kicks my butt, this is to be expected with a 900 twin, however on top end from 80mph to max speed he cant pull away from my ol 98 vmax sx 700. i took his sled for a ride and noticed it was only reving about 7400 rpm, while im hitting about 9000 to 9200. i guess my question is am i reving too high or is the A/C too low. i thank you for your input, neal.
 
Can't say anything about the Cat buy you are over reving huge and losing horsepower. You need to be around 8500 RPM Peak... unless you have some mods done that require the higher revs.
 
the only mod done to my sled is i have Bender clutch kits in both primary and secondary. to be honest, out of the hole my sled is a dog, but through mid range and top end it "carries the mail". from about 70mph i can hang with the big sleds.
 
Another real life testament that is typical of pre-packaged "clutch kits". Many times they just do not work well. Obviously you may have other things going on here, but I would figure out what the "clutch kit" actually consists of and post it. Also check out the condition of all the components including the belt.
