Removing Sticker Goo????

Alright whats the best way to remove the left over sticky stuff when you remove your stock stickers from your HOOD? Tried Goo Gone, Mineral Spirits, and Alcohol, none of which removed anything. I have used Strypezze to remove it off my trailing arms, but its strong stuff and I dont wanna remove any of the BLUE in the process. But gimme solvents or ideas that worked for you. Thanks

  • Believe it or not WD40 works well.
  • Acetone works well.
  • Citrus based cleaners work well.
  • There is a product called Sticker Off that I have never used that is supposed to work well.
Whatever you use do not leave any residue on the hood for any length of time. Clean good with soap and water after using any solvent.

The Goo Gone or the mineral spirits may have chemically altered the goo, so some of these might not work so well.
 
as Ding said i have used WD-40 with good results, but i bet that 3M stuff works good, they know their stuff when it comes to goo, lol
 
Well had some bad luck, the actone had to mix with one of the chemicals I used before it and took SOME of the clear coat off so it all faded Blue. I'm gunna try and buff it out with a 3 step process but if I cant looks like I going RETRO this summer. Kinda kicking myself in the a** for it, but I have crack lines on both sides of the hood where your supposed to do the hood update. I didnt know about it till the damage was already done. Anyone know some customs paniters here in Michigan????LOL

Yea that is so common on those, the cracks i mean. Anyone know if we can still get the repair/reflector kit for that anywhere? Would like to put it on the SX 700R so it doesn't crack. That sled still looks mint with 6,500 miles on it.

Already if I end up doing it I'll let ya know. But I'll be stripping the original paint myself to save some extra doe. Cant just go with a new or used hood after dumping time and $50 worth of heat tape into no way.
 
I know you guys think I am joking but I use my soldering torch I turn it down some,always keep the flame moving back & forth then wipe with a towel done in 2 min! Pull all my stickers this way too!
