I'm just wondering if your being over sensitivie on the engine bog...mine from time to time would have a slight bog...can't explain cuz 2 months latr it might do it again...Bad fuel...Spark plugs fouled, Valves stuck open for a second. etc...
Mr. Ted..I live in Toronto..if you want to talk verbally I can try and see what can be said over the phone...ooorr...I can capture a video of mine on startup and email it to you...this might verify a problem..or non problem...
Only one addition to the start up dash sequence..mine does everything that is mentioned above...annndd...every icon light up all at once and then it goes back to normal dash mode...

Hey guys- thanks to all who posted and helped me realize what was going on. And thanks for the offer to talk over the phone! I appreciate the help.
The short answer - my powervalves were gummed up bad(had them cleaned and aligned), my plugs were old(threw in three new NGKs), I needed a new drive belt(put a new Yamaha belt on). While at it I threw in new brake pads, changed the chaincase oil as well. lubed everything and had her wired for a heated shield.
The tech confirmed what alot of you guys had said - the warning light flashes once, the engine icon once as well. Anything more is indicative of a problem.
The Viper ran like a raped ape last night. Revving perfectly at 8700 rpm up top, pulls like mad down low and thru the mid. I had a great, great ride last night. One thing I adore about this sled is the incredible mid range buzzsaw ripping pull from 60k to 140k. It just pulls so sweet and smooth with a great ripping howl from that triple.
Damn I love this sled! My buds GSX800H.O. is faster but thru the twisties he can't get near me. Advantage Viper...
