so what are you all thinking of the new 08 lineup? i think they have a winner with the fx nytro mtx....130 hp 153" track....i dont see the dry weight on there am i missing it?
what do you all think?

glad i bought my nytro when i did. i do not like the new ones! is it wrong for me to want my sled to look like a sled not a wheeler. and as faw as the 10 ponies who cares its a rough trail sled not a lake racer, the nytro already had great point and shoot power. i think they missed the boat by not bumping up the apex, they can get 180 ponies out of a r1 at the crank why cant they do it the sled? and to think i thought my windy was almost nonexsistant.

instead of trying to make the apex in the same weight category as the doo's why not try to get the hp up and forget about the weight if theres enough ponies alot of people might forget about the weight. my gsxr 750 has alot more power than a katana and they are the same plant except that the katana is detuned. so i figure they should be able to get more out of that 1000cc 4.

Sorry man but diff. not the same powerplant. GSXR are LIQUID COOLED while Katana's AIR/OIL COOLED, ya cant push the onvolope for more hp unless your pushing coolant in the process. This is the reason why the Katana has less HP, not cause its detuned. The Katana has been AIR/OIL COOLED for as long as I can remember.

i like the back end of the new mountain apex how the bumper steup is

OMG is that thing awsome i wish i had the money for one i would go and snow cheack one tommorow. lol man yamaha has done a good job on this sled i cant wait for the demo rides. :yam: :4STroke: :yrules:

Very sweet sleds, the phaser is deff growing on me... how much hp does that engine actually put out? Says a 14 hp gain over the 120 which means like 132ish?

If the Mountain version wasn't $2500 overpriced I would own one, ride it for a year or two and then Boost the $hit out of it. :rulez:

Good point. It's pretty sad when you can buy a R1 for about $1000 more than a Nytro MTX and ride it ALOT more. The Apex Mtn. is the same price as an R1. Pretty soon snowmobiling will be a millionaire's sport. #$%&*

Nytro MTX with a turbo would be sweet though. I'm still wondering how the Nytro MTX would compare to the Apex MTX. Apex would himark it I'm sure, but for general riding I bet a Nytro MTX would hang right with it.

No weight listed usually = heavy. Yamaha avoided listing the weight of the RX-1 ton and we all know why they did that. Ski-doo doesnt have a problem listing weights but then again they have nothing to hide, except motors that blow up.

I agree with ya 100%, thats main reason I'll never buy a BRAND NEW sled or anything motorized for that fact. Brand new motorized products are the worst investment you'll make in your life, cause youll NEVER see that large amount of money back. Id rather wait a year or 2 find a leftover or a used one, meet the owner to see what kinda guy he is and save me a few grand. I bought my truck, bike and sled all USED from private owners, none of which have failed me yet.

that's a pretty good strategy - let someone else take the initial hit - i did buy my viper new, but it was an 03 that sat on the dealers floor for 2 years. Cars and trucks just the same - some guys though, have to have everything new.

Check out the videos of the FX nYtro... 576 lbs wet!! I think I want one. 130 hp and great bump absorbtion... Perfect for my needs!!

The 2008 Ski-Doo XP second generation Revs have shed over 40 pounds and change ergonomics even more. I hate to say this but they really nade some substaintle improvements. They had to improve handling do the sweet suspension on the Polaris IQ. I think Yamaha is going to loose some sales if they don't make more changes. I have been riding Yamahas for over 20 years. That new XP is looking pretty good.
