Hello everyone,
The other day i was riding my 600 vmax xt while i noticed that when i would hit the throttle hard, the track belt (where the rotating teeth connect to the track) was slipping. I quickly stopped and noticed that the track was loose, and proceded home to further inspect. Upon inspection i noticed that the "guide wheel" all the way in the rear track, the last ones where the track begines to curve was missing. I then noticed the shaft thholding these wheels in place had snapped. The rim of the other remaining guide wheel had been destroyed. Now for the instructional assistence i require:
-I have not the slightest clue of how this happened or exactly how i can fix it, or what is missing; who knows what else fell out if the wheel did.
-What i need to know is how many wheels should be in place.
-How to go about replacing the entire rear shaft, e-clips, bearing, and wheels as they are all destroyed?
-How to retighten the track to the accurate length and tension?
-and/or any other insightful, or helpful information i need to know how to succesfully complete such an operation on the machine.
Please if you could provide photos or links to diagrams, it would help along with the explanation or instructional step-by-step proccess that you give me..
Above all, Please help me as this looks to be the last snowfall we will get in my area, and are in dire need of fully enjoying this snowmobile for this season. Please help, and to those who do, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
