Have a "thump" Sound somewhere in the clutchsection every time you let off the throttle, and it sounds louder depending on the speed and how hard and uneven the surface is..but it only sounds when you hit bumps, quite simply things that get the front suspension to react.

Have done all i think:
Aligned the motor
made a inspection on both primary and secondary where all are fine exept that the spring in the secondary are 2-3mm to short for the wearlimit
the belt is org 8dn and don have many miles on it

Any suggestion people? It sounds like the belt is hitting something when releasing the throttle and hitting the bumps but theres no marks whatsoever on the belt , neither the sled itself

This is just a ghostproblem, some suggestions?
 
Shock mounts, the alluminum bushing in the bulkhead where the shock mount is, busted motor mount,loose bolts that hold the Radius rods to the bulkhead bad shock

hmm the bushing in the bulk, not checked that, but the rods are fine.
But if it is the bushing for the shock, shouldnt it sound all the time when hitting bumps and not only when i release the throttle?
 
Happens when you let off the thottle only? If so I'd be checking driveline components, starting at secondary work your way to the drivers. Good luck! Let us know what you find.

as described before, have checked all in the clutch compartment, have thought about the chain sockeyerun, but the thing that bothers me is that the sound comes from the left very clearly and last time i checked the transmission sat on the right side ;)
 
By the way, checked the transmission now and there were a bit slack of chain, so fixed it and tried again, but the shit was still the same...so what am i missing, this is what i have checked

primary and secondary, all rollers,bushings,springs etc messured all after the yammi book
aligned the motor,shecked the enginemounts
put ducktape everywhere were the belt could have touched and there were no markes on the tape later
shecked the transmission and tighten the bult

think i have done all now so why is it there, and im sure its near the sheaves, you can hear it through the sidepanel to the left..

check the bearings on the jack shaft and drivers. Maxdlx also check the drivers for missing cogs
 
If it was missing cogs i would had noticed it, and for the bearing it got replaced this year so i am leaning towards that, the bearing that lies at the secondary. but why should it sound only when i let go off throttle and hit som hard areas`? shouldnt it sound all the time
 
Pull the belt off and start up the engine and engage the clutch and then let off. If your main clutch bushing is sticking it will make that kind of noise.
 
So you have checked the bearing behind the speedometer cable cap/connection. I had one go a couple years back on my wifes XTC, only made a clunking noise on deceleration. bearing totally failed. Almost took out the bracket that the bearing seats into. God I hate noises
 
It could be the track hitting the tunnel. I had this problem with my SRX. When you let of the throttle the track goes slack and when you hit a bump the track slaps against the tunnel.

Ditto - Had the same problem on my SX500R. The track was too loose.

as said before dont belive its the track, because the sound comes out from the left sidepanel. And if it was the track i should feel it and hear equal from both sides? Well going to the hospital tomorrow for surgery "varicose veins" so get paralyzed for 2weeks so leaving the sled to a friend at yamaha for a stop to this problem
 
Yep, sound on mine was coming from the left also. Might be that the exhaust being on the right is hiding the sound from the right side. Also did not feel any type of hit to the tunnel when I heard the sound. Sound did get worse after the tunnel protectors were installed.
