I got my reverse mod done a couple nights ago on my 01 srx. I took it out for the 1st time last night and love it!! If anyone is on the fence with this...DO IT! Best $250 bucks I've spent on a sled. I did my own mods to the brackets and left the cooling system alone. Much easier. SRXer was a big help with pictures and info on this also, thanks man. :winterrul

Hey thanks for the sweet deal!!! I still trying to find a kit for the wifes sxr. A used one went for $325 on ebay!!! I couldn't believe it.

Glad it all worked out, I know I love mine, just not having to drag it out of the trailer is worth it. And it's fun as h*ll in reverse too!

Depends on years, check the gearing between them on the top gear and chain through a yamaha parts website. See if a non-reverse mmax and the srx have the same part numbers too. Good luck, Dave

It's pretty straight forward using the Viper 8EK kit. Basically swapping internals in the gearbox, and the new chaincose cover, fitting the linkage/mount for the shifter is the most work, it needs some tweaking to make it fit.

We met a guy on the weekend with a 2001 SRX and he used the reverse kit from a SXR i think and for the lever he used one off the polaris. It hooks up on the handlebars and looks just like the parking brake leaver. I wish i would have got pics. This was an older guy (in his 60's) he had a Polaris M10 extended to 136 and he widened the front and used shocks from a ski-doo. Here's the funny part i wonder if he looks at this site, because his sled is one of a kind on the tunnel extension he had a wing.

I have a a reverse kit off of a 98 xtc that took a crap. But I do have all the parts some are good if anyone is looking for them pm me.

SRXer Man that is one gorgeous SRX !!

Does anybody sell a complete boltin reverse Kit for the SRX's ? The fact they don't have reverse is the only thing keeping me from buying one.

Keep an eye on E-bay, they are often there.
Thanks for the compliment on the sled BTW.
