when you buy you're ecs's tell they are for a yamaha as they come already gapped bad juju to screw with the welded on electrode. you can stress the weld and have it fall off in the cylinder.

Huh??

have no problems gapping my plugs.Do it in a gentle manor.Done it all my life, never had an electrode ever fall off.Specs call for between .028 to .031.I picked .030 for my gap...right there daman.By the way, engine started in one pull today.

the ecs plugs are not supposed to be gapped. regular es plugs are fine but with ecs the electrodes will fall off into the engine. if ur plugs were .018 gap then they were for skidoo's. yamaha srx ecs plugs are pre-gapped at .028 to .030
