Hey i need some information, on how(if poss) i can save my sled, 2000sxr700. I was out water skipping when my belt got wet, and down she went i shut it off before it went under, the problem is its got to sit in the water for a week before i can get to it, ( I need to get a Groomer or a ATV with tracks to get to it) Its right in the middle of a valley. Last year i fished out a XC800 and we saved it, but it only sat in the water for 18hrs not a whole week, I know the minute that i can get ti out i need to de-ice it and drain the fluids, but besides flushing the living $hit outta it with oil and carb cleaner, and wd-40,(thats how we saved the 800) im not sure what to look for........PLEASE HELP.
Yeah swimming sucks in the middle of the winter!! Its defenatly a summer sport!!!!!!!!

leaving it in the water doesnt hurt it. it is when you take it out that time is critical. when you get it out get it going asap and it should be fine.
Gees sorry to hear about this!.
When you get it out of there place it in a heated shop, then remove gas tank, oil tank, carbs, pipes. Pull sparkplugs and gently pull it so that the water flows out, pull harder until the water is gone, then spray WD40 into each cyl, large amounts, then pull it again to remove the WD40, then repeat several times, then put oil in the cyls and pull it . Make sure to remove all the water in the fuel and oil lines.
The hardest part to dry might be the seat. Some guys say that it`s best to pull the cover and then squeeze all the water out of the foam.
It will take months to dry if you don`t do it.. but it will dry either ways.
Make sure to clean the taillight and headlight, were the bulb sits.
My brother in law`s MM had a stator go bad after a dive in the lake, dunno why, but there probably was a short somewhere, guess it could be caused by water.
But I dunno if it`s necessary to pull the flywheel to make sure the stator is dry, guess the water will disappear anyway.
Good luck

Well...I'm sure I'm not the first to admit...nor the last...I picked up a machine that must've was sitting at the bottom of the lake for at least a season...it only had 116km on it...what a deal...NOT!!!...
However you'll be happy to know...other than my Stater, tach and CDI(which I replaced from here)...its working flawlessly...infact although its not allot to some but with 2 newborns and all...I've got 3000Miles...not KMs on it since..and its still screaming...
Like the others have mentioned..I don't know the procedure the guys did on it before I bought it...but as long as you hit the kill switch..that might've saved some of the components...
Also unsure as to how long you where riding it(heat wise)...but I wouldn't tamper with the head or other parts that could warp later...
OH...and my seat finally dried up...2 years later...hehehhehe...
good luck...

Why dont you try to get a couple Divers?? i know up here in some spots its about 10ft deep with current so Jumping in after it isn't a brillant idea. pay for a couple scuba divers and they'll get it.

I think you should forget about your sled and ship the parts that people paid for almost a month ago.

a month is a little ridiculous buddy. It only takes 5 mins to ship parts. you had time to go water skipping but not ship the parts in a timely manner.

Hey listen it's been nearly 3 months and you still haven't sent the reverse kit. You call me ignorant for threatening to inform your employer that you are a thief? Don't you understand that what you've done is against the law? I've been VERY patient with you and what I said in my message to you on Monday was out of frustration and because it's obvious that you just don't get it! All I want is what I paid for, and now you have the nerve to post comments about what I said to you. That threat was meant to get you off your lazy arse and ship me my reverse. I don't wish you or anyone else here any ill will, that's why I've given you this long to make things right. You said you would ship it out Tuesday. How about it do you have a tracking number?

I say this user, cause that is BS waiting 3 months and no product was recieved. I have dealt with Vipersniper from a buyers standpoint and was more than happy with the outcome.

hey viper sniper, I will continue to post about this yahoo every chance I get
Let us know if you ever receive your parts.
M-Max
And Mark , if you don't like it, send the parts. People do not often remember all of their good experiences but they always remember the bad...

You've got a lot of nerve asking for help on here. What does "ive never NEVER called and said that im going to have their Job!!!" have to do with anything. If you were the one getting jerked around for months I'm sure you'd feel the same way now wouldn't you? Grow up.
Mark, why havent you sent the parts to these guys?

I'll second that...
