We had a bone stock srx with 22-38 run 117mph and it was out of gear staring to over rev

it was out of gear running so it started over reving

People say they don't work I haven't tested them back to back so i don't know but I've seen srx's with 23-38 gearing and a over drive sheave run 123 on radar.Srx magic's buddy with 24-38 gearing ran 125 on radar.

JOSH VMAX 4 IS 116.3 TO BE EXACT. lol. !! NOW YOU BASISLY LOST ME. YOU TOTALLY FLIPED FLOP HERE. I WILL SUM THIS UP THIS, AS LONG AS YOUR NOT OVER 8500, SLED IS STILL ACCELERATEING, I WOULD KEEP RUUNING THE TALLEST GEARS I CAN FIND. THIS IS 1/2 MILE WERE TALKING ABOUT HERE. NOT 500 F.T. !! 3:16 (yammie tony)

I did'nt mean to flip flop I typed wrong, I'm just saying they will pull ONE MORE tooth on the top and give you the mph. Especially in .5 of a mile!!!!!!

Well that was well said there guys.So basically an Srx can run a taller gear, say 24 tooth upper without a problem. The SRX has a lot of balls at launch anyways, usually spinning to hell until she hooks up.Even with 24 tooth, she'll still be spinning out of the hole and this way she would climb up on the mph,say 120mph in perfect ideal conditions.Main thing is the 8500 rpm should be maintained at WOT.I just need to see the needle at the 120 mark just once. Then I would be happy to know that it can do it and be happy to know it could hang in there with larger displacement sleds out there.

And the answer to your question JENSEN,there is still snow here, but temps are rising every day.In the city the snow is going fast.Where I live in the countryside, there is still a lot of snow lying around.Might be a little mushy only.Ditches are starting to have water in them now to.

GO TO 24-38 ? THAT WAS YOUR POINT. IF SO!!!! YES I AGREE. BUT THATS NOT WHAT YOU FIRST POSTED. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I owe you an apology. I looked back and I did indeed screw up my post.I am talking about the addition of one tooth on the top,not subtraction, sorry about that.

DUDE, YOU DON,T OWE ME A APOLOGY !!!!!!!!! WHAT YA DO , STEAL MILLION DOLLARS FROM ME. WHO CARES. I AGREE WITH YOUR POINT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

BLUE MONSTER1. AS LONG AS DON,T GO OVER 8500, AND THE SLED IS STILL ACCELERATEING, YOU CAN GEAR IT FOR THE MOON. just a note, with all this said, throw it all out if your not running the distance to use this !!! 3:16 (yammie tony)

"in all out right condition the stock gearing 23-38 you can go over 120mph on gps or radar."
I proved this 2 weeks ago with the help of MRVIPER700 i ran my best in 3000 feet 121.5 with stock gearing on radar.
Here my question if you go up 1 tooth on top 24 do you need a new chain?
Thanks guys :yrules:

Hitting 8500 rpm and that gearing it is mathematically impossible so I don't know how you did it unless your clutches are cut. That is 10 mph over what that gearing equates to.

you do not need a new chain.

WOULD YOU GUYS CALL ASPHALT PERFECT CONDITIONS ? AND REMEBER THIS IS 1/4 MILE. I SEEN A 98 SRX IN SUMMER HEAT LAST YEAR RUN 117. NOW I GOT TO BELIEVE THIS SLED CAN PICK UP THREE MILES A HOUR RUNNING 1/2 MILE !! lol. 3:16 (yammie tony)

yamigod read my post on the other page.Yes asphalt is perfect conditions almost like a cold day on glare ice my buddies bone stock srx with 22-38 gearing ran 117mph in the 1/4 mile on asphalt it was running out of gear just before the end of the track.

I have a few bolt ons like reeds, can, cold air intake, bender orange in the primary ( I don't know what wieghts im using ) i had a green in the secondary wraped at 80. At the begining of the year my fastest was 12.5 with a 1 inch track and 192 studs and over reving 200 to 300 rmps. I then bought a shaved track with 245 picks and removed 100 to remove weight. (i saved 10lbs from the old track) I then tested and ran 114 with the green wrapped at 80 with track rachet. I tighten the track and wrapped the secondary to 60 for the next run and slammed the front of the sled and i ran a 118 and i all most #$%&* my pants. I then installed a red spring in the secondary wrapped it at 60 and i ran a 120.8 i think then i ran again right way while the pipes were hot and ran a 121.5. A 1998 the same day ran 122 flat. Last weekend i got not radar my sled and the same 1998 slammed his sled and he still ran 122 and asked if i had any gears because he new he was out of gear. I want to go up one tooth for next year but i was wondering if you need to go to a bigger chain

RYAN, THIS 98 I SAW WAS STOCK TOO EXCEPT A BENDER CAN, WHICH WAS PROBLEY HURTING HIM !! WHERE IS YOUR TAR POST ? !! 3:16 (yammie tony)
