Seems like people are saying go with the 1.25 ripsaw.I am not putting any studs on.So here are 3 possible tracks I am looking at.Please give your opinion on this ASAP>
1) 1.25 Ripsaw(staggered paddle) 2.52 pitch...36 lbs.Clipped every window
2)1.25 Predator (staggered paddle) 6 pitch...37 lbs...clipped every third
3) 1.25 Predator (staggered "studlike") 2.52 pitch..38 lbs.clipped every third.
Will someone explain the difference in pitch to me?Also does every third window clipped recommended or do I stick with every window clipped.Prefer fully clipped which only comes on the 1.25 ripsaw and 1" Predator.

what kind of riding do you do more of. The ripsaw is better on hardpack trail the 6 pitch is better of trail and in lose snow. the pitch on all 3 is the same 2.52. It is the distance from center of drive to center of drive lug. The 6 pitch refers to the track lug configuration. All that said I'd get the pred 6 pitch, and stud it, or run it unstudded, but Ilike off trail riding. My ripsaw is great on hard packed trails. Maxdlx

will the 1 1/4 lug fit in an srx without removing protectors of scuffing off the lug or trimming. i went with a 1" rip that i got from 2000srx it's a great trail track and no modification is necessary.

I am basically an off trail kind of guy.But do stick to the trail or most used areas for all out speed.Like on the river out here, wide open in many areas.

the 1" rip i think it only weighs 33 lbs

I did remove some lug height where it hits the protectors on a 1.25 Ripsaw that I put on my 600SXR.

Now it comes down to 1.25 Ripsaw or the 1" Predator. Both fully clipped, about the same weight, minus 1 lb on the Ripsaw.Predator about $100 cheaper then the Ripsaw track. So is the Predator a reliable track to go with. Can get the Predator on sale for $365 plus taxes. The Ripsaw on sale goes for $441.72 plus taxes.

also I was thinking, what about the 1.25 Predator track with 6 pitch profile. This should be a good all around track if I am not going with studs. But may have a problem with the heat exchanger protectors up front.

If you are not going to stud it then pull the protectors. Then you can run up to a 1.75" track without issue. The 1.25" pedator is a nice track.

I have the 1.25 6 pitch Predator, no studs, but 136", love it on trail and off, no fun on lakes or anywhere there is ice. I definitely miss studs on ice but a lot of it is getting back to the feel of no studs I think. That is a minimal part of my riding so I am happy. I did pull the protectors, both tunnel and front exchanger. I also have extrovert drivers, which I like because you can run the track so loose.

Didn't order my track yet.Still cannot decide for sure. There is a sale on till April 1.Got some time to think about it.Don't want to stud the track.I do not ride on ice, mostly hard pack.Sometimes stray into the powder snow.I know the SRX is not a deep snow sled, but would the 1.25 help there a bit.Putting Simmon's ski's on also. For speed the 1" Predator seems good.Others have told me they really havn't lost speed with a 1.25 track.Need a few more opinions please.

Sled Parts.com has some tracks on sale right now that I think are pretty good deals. Devon is a great guy, I've bought from him before.

My recommendation on a track would be the Camo 1.25" Predator 9818 6-pitch. I found this to be a great track on/off the trail, plus its very durable. This track has been put to the test by many and I haven't heard any bad reviews. Keep in mind that there is no perfect track for all conditions, you need to determine what you want out of your track and what you are willing to sacrifice. (i.e. will you be riding in powder, on trails, drag racing, wide open lake runs, etc.)
Rich Motorsports or CB Performance have both have been great to deal with and they both also have very competitive prices (...they may even match other advertised prices you have found on the web). Plus they both help support this forum.

I am leaning towards the Camo 1.25 Predator ..6 pitch.Ride on hard pack, usually on the rivers out here.I am not in the bush where the snow is 3-4 feet deep.Like to rip across open fields when there is a good base to run.Sure once in a while I will wander off into the deep stuff, but the SRX doesn't like deep powder to much. When I am on the river,I do open it up since there are open spots of 1 mile straight ,then slow down for the corners and then open it up again on the straight sections. Is 6 pitch meant a little more for soft snow, when you go off a hard pack trail.

Yes it is that what I'm goonna run, but in a 136" version when I do the conversion this coming fall.I'm running a ripsaw now and its great on packed trails and ok elsewhere. Its still 100% better in any snow condition than the stock track and I think there was little to no top end loss, I'm curious if top end will be lost with the six pitch? Even if we do lose some top end I'm really not too concerned about it as my sled has top speed to spare as far as I'm concerned and the hookup on the low end will be worth it, don't ya think?

if I go with a 1.25 track, may remove the protectors on front exchangers. On my SXR600 I put on a 1.25 Ripsaw, but I shaved the track where it would hit the protectors up front. On a good hardpack with my SXR600 clutched right, launches at 8200 and got the front end up about 1 to 1.5 foot.Mind you I geared it down 1 tooth on top.The 1 " Hacksaw is really the same configuration as the Ripsaw, only with 1 "lugs.
