big bore or port and polish?

just KEEP AWAY from HAUCK or ANYTHING hauck sells!!!! TRUST ME>>>>> Gary Oles nosboy

THANKS DANGER DOG, HAVE TALKED TOO DON. BUT MY QUESTION TOO YOU IS HOW MUCH FASTER THAN A WELL SET-UP 00-01-02. 1 SLED, TWO SLEDS, MORE. WHAT YA FIGURE YOUR HP IS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Yamigod you almost have to have the same person set up both sleds.Set up is everything.I have beat 01 srx's with hauck lake race porting before with my stocker.

3:16 it is hard for me to say as I have different suspension and clutch set up in it with the ported cylinders as I did with stock. I would say 3 to 4 sled lenths. It is supposed to be a 14-16 hp gain.

RYAN, I HAVE BEAT,IN BIG BORES WITH MY STOCKER THATS WHAT MY QUESTION IS. THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. MY 2000 SRX IS VERY FAST, ESPECIALLY WITH HC NOW. SO IS IT WORTH IT FOR ME. TUFF DESISION. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I've been running a 780 big bore in prostock form for 4 years...cylinders and case are gutted, running Jaws race pipes spinning 10,200, MP heads@185 psi W/ 38 rifle bored flat slides...motor runs flawless, the weisco's have been good to me...oil is important, I use Redline high rpm kart oil and my motor is amazingly clean W/little wear at the end of every season. Do your own Big bore...send the cylinders to millenium for the bore, then to be ported wherever, then back to millenium for plating. Get your Pistons first and have them coated and send them W/ your cylinders. Have your case done too.

SRX 1000, I still have'nt had a succesful dyno session, first time the motor kept nosing over @ 9,500+-, we then found the crank to be out of phase by about 10 deg. The second time the dyno had some malfunction w/ the sled before me, don't exactly remember what it was so I'm hoping to get back toward the end of the summer w/ this motor or a 1000 if I decide to build one. My guess on HP is 190ish? It's been tuned by seat of pants over several years and a lot of fixed sleds around me. I pretty much do outlaw racing and there is never really anyone set up with timers or a gun at a properly marked distance so I couldn't tell you a accurate speed without feeding you BS. right now although the motor is considered prostock form, its on the heavy side w/all heat exchangers and stock hood.Carbon fiber trailing arms and a Wahl susp. are all that has lightend it up, however I did just purchase a real light Race chassis from Joe Weber so I'll keep you posted as to times in the future. If you don't mind leaving a # I would like to talk to you about building a 1000. Thanks.

How reliable would a bigbore 780 be for trail riding. It would be around 170hp on pump gas but do i need anything else to go along with it. Bigbore pipes, extra cooling ect.

The stock SRX pipes will work fine at 170hp. The 780 bigbore will have to be ported well to achieve 170hp. Hauck's won't. His porting is lacking. He builds them too safe. 38mm carbs from a MachZ will help you quite a bit, but are not required. You will not need extra cooling.

bender 835 srx 190+ hp on pump gas - stock compression & stock timing. bullet proof trail motor.

high compression & advance timing 200 hp.

the little big bores ( 780 ) aren't even close.
