oil leaking from air box??

From what i can see it appears to be sooty oil. it looks used. i actually thought i had a chain case leak when i first stuck my finger in it. then when i started looking the oil appeared up high(right under the air box) and appeared to be running from there down into the belly pan.

Honestly i have no idea what the oil pump is set at. the sled is in millinocket Maine and i am in boston. 5 hours away. I am thinking the pump might be out of spec and dumping too much oil into it.
As i said before i have barely used the sled this year. I have been relying on my friends that ride it to relay any info about the sleds operation back to me.
Obviously this plan isn't working.
I am pretty sure that I filled the oil tank before my last ride and i think the total miles i rode were about 60 miles. If i remember correct when i pulled the airbox last weekend i had aprox half a tank of oil left. seems like it is using a lot for 60 miles.

When i head back up to maine i will check the oil pump setting
