After taking my "00" SRX's crank to my local dealer for repair on the middle rod & bearings, they tell me they won't split the crank & do the work. Outside of sending it to "Falicon", they can't help me, unless I order a new one. No Thanks! I've started checking on E-Bay , & T.Y.'s classified for a replacement... Any good suggestions or help would be appreciated!!!

Sea-Doo Clinic will do it in South Michigan (Coldwater I believe) . Several places in WI and MN or Adrien-Bernard in Quebec do excellent work.

There are a bunch of other places as well. Keep checking around.

Orlo,

Viperking sent his crank to CB Performance and I think had them replace one crank bearing for under $200. I am in the process of taking my Viper motor apart because of a crank bearing failure and more than likely will call them when I get my crank out. I do not believe that the crank repair pricing is up to date on their web site. I called them last month and was told that they use to send the cranks out for repair and now they repair them in house. Good luck!

yes it will need to be trued and welded. If you find one on ebay make shure it's for a 2000-2002 not a 98-99.
My 01 crank was out 13thousandths one time.

Thanks Ding & Gone Blue,... Won't they have to re-weld & true the crank again?? Big bucks???

Yeah, yeah. I would call the guys at CB Performance and just talk with them. They are a sponsor to this site and I have heard nothing but good things about them. G.B.

try Micro Belmont. Talk to Gary. If he wont do it for you he will point you in the right direction as to who will. He has some very good connections. They are right across the street from the GM sheet metal plant on 54th street and Clay. 616-534-9681. I highly recommend them, and they are right in town...

Thanks guys, I found a local shop that has done these before, & sounded the most intelligent of all the places I called... We shall see... Thanks again!!

i sent mine to cbperformance and it was $200 but they sent it to a place called NCM crank shop to have it fixed. i may be able to find their phone number if you want it

Thanks Viper, I already dropped it off... Estimate will come back next week.. They we're thinking around $300-350, with a new rod/ bearing kit installed & trued..

Dutton Mi. Just a few miles south east of Grand Rapids..

Thanks!

I called Ski Doo Clinic yesterday and they told me over the phone $300 - $400 for replacing a bearing, welding, and balancing. I would need to supply the bearing. This was for the crank bearing between the center and PTO rod. G.B.

Crankshaft Rebuilding

Hi everyone. If you are looking for crankshaft rebuilding, one of the most experienced shops in the industry is Associated Crankshaft Services in Canada. Located just outside of Winnipeg, these guys have been in business for over 20 years and do great work at very reasonable prices. I have used them over the years and have always been happy. The owner's name is Ray and his telephone number is (204) 339-8091.

Hope this helps someone out there!

I was at my local Yamaha dealer yesterday pricing out engine parts and started talking with the service manager about crank repair. He told me that they send all of their crank work out to a place called D & D Crankshaft Repair Service in Eagle River, WI. I called them today and talked with the owner, Dan. He told me that he charges $150 to go through the crank including cleaning and inspecting all of the bearings. For the new bearings, you can either buy them from him or send your own. Has anyone used this place? G.B.
