Crank help..

I was at my local Yamaha dealer yesterday pricing out engine parts and started talking with the service manager about crank repair. He told me that they send all of their crank work out to a place called D & D Crankshaft Repair Service in Eagle River, WI. I called them today and talked with the owner, Dan. He told me that he charges $150 to go through the crank including cleaning and inspecting all of the bearings. For the new bearings, you can either buy them from him or send your own. Has anyone used this place? G.B.

i called D&D and they said it would be think $170 just to do anything to the crank plus the price of bearings. i think he wanted $150 for a bearing or something. NCM/cbperformance did it for $180 or $190 including the bearing. I sent my crank along with $200 and they fixed it up. however the first time they did it the bearing they put on was too thick and it didn't allow the crank to line up in the case right. i called them and said what happened and it turns out they recieved a bad batch of bearings so i had to send it back but they fixed it the day they recieved it and sent it back out the next day. i did however buy another crank the day i sent mine back because i had missed so much riding already and we had snow and i had a week off an the snow was supposed to melt so i bought a used one and picked it up and installed it so i could ride and when ,ine came back i sold if for $70 less than i bought mine for and i had to pay to ship the crank back to them again. so overall it cost me and extra $90 because they messed up on the bearing but that $90 got me an extra 400 miles of riding so i guess it was worth it. the bearing thing wasn't their fault so i would send another crank to them and they were real sorry about it and fixed it right away.
