All, I was looking at an 2001 SRX 700 yesterday to buy and the guy had a fuel primer button installed on the sled, said it was really hard to start. I owned a 99 SRX700 and never had any starting issues. Has any one else had this issue with the 2001 SRX? I think the carbs may need a good cleaning and bowls levels checked, syncronization,etc.... How were the 2001's any issues differant than my 99? I know the 300 watt magneto and the improved head light. Sled is in pretty sound shape. Thanks, blubullet

I HAVE A 2000 SRX AND A 2002 SRX. 2000 STARTS LIKE IT HAS ELECTRIC START, 2002 I FEEL LIKE I AM SAWING A TREE DOWN. no issues with 01 srx, best sled ever made. they have about 6 horse on 99. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Buy it.......

Must have carb issues, my '01 will start in 3-4 pulls sitting a week,1-2 pulls
if it's starded every day, always starts great, and the 300 watt magneto makes the head light awsome at seeing at night, pull the trigger dude!!!!!!!

Hmm A Primer installed. This has been discussed on here in the past but I never found a good way to do it. Did you notice how he had it installed? Sorry for semi - Hijacking your thread.

For comparisons on the years just do some searching on here. It is discussed regularly. Basically 00 and up are desired over the 98 and 99's. Beyond that each has their own option on what years was best from 00 on. I have owned both and would only go with 00 and up in the future. My 98 and 99 were great but the 00 and up are a fair amount better. Snappier, better lighting, graphics, and quicker in a race.

Might have something not adjusted right in the carbs. My 2001 took a good 6-8 pulls after it had been sitting a few days or more. Always started, just always took a few pulls.

mine depends on the temperature under -10 can take ten pulls but normally i can get my 01 started in 2-5 pulls

TLC daman...TLC..and a 30 foot pull start rope didn't hurt to.. Grab it and run fast and she will fire every time.LOL Have a wicked spring in the recoil,it'll pull me back to the sled everytime.LMAO daman.

lol, even fuel injection takes two pulls. One to get the rail up to pressure and the second to start.

Thanks to all, I knew that the improvements were better for 2000 and up. So it appears that some sleds do start a little harder than others. It looked to me like he ran a line straight from tank and then to the primer pump than direcly into the three carbs. Not sure but if I end up buying it, I tell you for sure. Thanks Terry
