Picked up a '05 R6 Raven Black today, only 1600 miles, pretty much mint condition.....also has a Power Commander and Akropovic slip-on. I haven't gotten a chance to take any pictures yet but here's some pictures that the seller put in his FS ad on R6Messagenet. This thing is like light years ahead of my old '98 ZX-6.

Nice. The red rimstripes match the black paint really good. I'm already dreaming of an 05-07 black R1.

That's one of the best looking yami's.Excllent choice in exhaust.

Exhaust has a nice tone, it's not the loudest but the tone is what counts to me. Looks like it's a quality built exhaust too.

What's the average rear wheel HP on these bikes, around 105? With the motor putting out close to 120? Me and 2 of my college buddies are thinking about bringing our bikes up to the dragstrip in Pierre some night and running against each other for fun. One of them has a 2003 CBR 954RR. He weighs about 80 pounds more than me but I'm still going to have a pretty tough time beating his bike I think. The other has a 2001 CBR 600 F4i. Fuggin' Honda's anyway. j/k :bump:

Here's some pictures that I took today.

At the darag strip I have seen 600's beat 1000's.On bike's you have to learn how to launch it and evry bike is different.

Well they haven't owned thier bikes for much more than a month. All three of us had bikes previous to the ones we have now though. None of us have any drag racing experience. I used to practice launches on my ZX-6 once and a while for fun but this bike is totally different. It'll probably come down to the launch like you said and who can get good shifts. All in good fun so it doesn't really matter who wins. :yam:

very nice.....i'm partial as i have a 05 r1 raven :) you might be able to beat your buds because you can launch harder without pulling the wheel up.Practice practice is the key :) good luck and have fun
