We have a 14 foot panel truck now to haul the products. We are leaving our boss to go on our own. There is a lot of work out there for us,and not enough trades people. We will be installing windows, doors, decks, kitchen cabinets and counter-tops.For almost every job we do for our boss,we can grab side work from the customers with no problems. And believe me,there is big money in installing windows.Example...2 windows aprox. 30x 60 can be installed in about 3 hours..removal and re-install and the casing cut and nailed. That is about $500 labor charge. That is $250 each..about $83/an hour.Counter-tops that I used to do on the side, was making about $400 profit in half a day.We have connections with a large cabinet shop and they have the work.We also want to get into the Hardwood Flooring also...bigger money there. We are willing to work long hours...even 7 days a week so that we can relax in the winter some and go sledding more.We have the experience,my partner has many connections in the industry. We both work great together and are fed up with boss's taking advantage of us.We are also looking into working for the insurance companies doing on the spot replacements anytime,in which we will stock different size doors in the truck. There is where the real big $$$$ are..with the insurance companies..
replace doors after a break and enter has been committed. That is what I am really good at.Maybe I'll have a brand new sled soon..a four stroke.
