I finally sent my crankshaft out for bearing replacement so I am starting to think about rebuilding my Viper motor.
Is there anything to check out on the oil pump while I have it out of the motor? I cannot seem to find anything in either the Yamaha factory or aftermarket shop manuals?

I'll add if it was mine,, i would up the pump(richer) a mm or two
when you get 'er back together, IMO they where a little to lean from Yamaha..$.02

Thanks guys for your comments. It appears that the oil pump was working before my crank bearing went. I was just hoping there was a way to check the pump before I put the motor back together. But that does not sound to be the case.

i would run pre-mix at first untill you know all the air is out
of the system..
