I've got an '05 Mtn Viper that I'm going to pipe and am looking at the cprs, slps, and benders, what do you like?

cpr's ARE simons, and they are very good. Slp's are awesome too.

Oops, I meant slps.
I can't really say yet (not installed), but the research I did lead me to purchase ceramic coated SLPs.
Key points I liked:
- Run at high rpm, safer portion of Viper timing curve
- Make good power, ~ +30 HP
- Aren't too loud, similar sound to stock
- Don't require a lot of butchering to install
Bender's would be my last choice.

Never tried the others, slp's on my 02 work great..easy to take off and on which i do alot..friend had a set of cpr's ..said they didn't wrk as good as slp's bottom-mid but the top end was great..he didn't have good luck with them though..blew it up

I'll be honest; the opinion is based solely on readings and nothing more. They run at 8750 RPM, which still has a lot of timing advance. I wanted a pipe that made power, not noise and SLP are considered the quietest. Bender installation seemed to require a lot of modification. That said the SLP install only sounds marginally better.justaviper said:

For the short time I had those SLP's on my Viper, IMO there not all that QUIET. They maybe quieter then other brands but they diff. push some DB's compared to a STOCK caned Viper.

S....L....P....quietest, best fitting, and has the best "all around" acceleration (low end, midrange, top end).
I really liked my aaens. They don't run @ 9200 like the instructions say. They run best at 87 to 8800 rpm. Easy fit, and good power gain all the way thru the band. Maxdlx

The most power overall? how much compared to slp, 2-3 ponies?They all probably have thier ups and downs but I always though cpr's were good for lakes,long runs etc. It depends on what hes doing with the sled i would guess.SRXMAGIC said:

I installed Bender pipes last fall and love them, the only mod I had to do with my sled that was the most time consuming was taking all the foam out of the right side belly pan and under the hood. Then I installed reflective heat tape. Installed my pipes and clutch kit and rejeted in one evening. Good power, great sound. I personally like the 3 into 3 pipes, if you want snoring pipes go with a 3 into 1. No head mod needed on mine and I already had installed a rear heat exchanger and opticool the first year I had my viper because it was overheating.

If you want to trail ride and accelerate corner to corner and the occasional drag race use the SLP. Tested all of them (CPR, Aaen, SLP, Bender, Jaws, Speedwerx) and I'll still put a set of SLP's on before any other for trail riding.

I know the secret! You know what the best triple pipe is for a Viper???? The one that makes YOU happy. lol
I've set up a SLP triple piped Viper for my son and he's run it 2-years and 3000 miles with no issues. Set it up like they recommend and don't get greedy with the jetting. Makes the Viper a whole new animal !

Have setup probably 10 or so Bender piped Vipers and have 2 come back due to bad fuel (the Bender's run close to the high timing on stock ignition, can bite you when you don't have good fuel). Do what you feel most comfortable with and what you can afford. Don't skimp on the small stuff (head setup & rear heat exchanger). Start searching and reading!

What's the head mod that you are referring to? I will run the pipes mostly in the mountains here in the interior of Alaska, elevation-wise 1500-5000 feet where we have a lot of powder. Noise-wise I don't mind if they are loud as I'm used to PI end dumps on my MM, they sound like a top fuel dragster at idle if you know what I mean.

SLPs are by far the best setup if you dont want to be messing with it all the time. And they are quieter than the rest and have very strong gains!
