simons 780?

From riding with cacsrx1, they must be pretty good on fuel IMO. I'm looking for fuel before he is. Usually both of my friend's Mountain Cat 800 EFI take 1/2 to 1 gallon more gas than mine as well. Just to give you an idea compared to other sleds.

Fuel Mileage - Laughing out loud what that?

Yammiguy - Fuel mileage 8.5 - 9 at the very best with the BB 780. These motors like fuel. I've leaned mine back slowly after becoming comfortable with the jetting and have lost several pistons. I have become greedy searching for mileage. One piece of advise - DON'T DO IT - if you can't afford it. I run a tour buddy 2 1/2 gallon extra tank. Eleven gallon Yamaha tank plus 2.5 = 13.5 gallons divided by 9 mpg equals 121 miles. I can report one finding that’s very important. My Yamaha never lets me down never!!! I have lost a piston in Quebec on a long 1000 mile 5 day trip twice. I remove the plug pure in a little oil and leave the spark plug wire removed. I have dragged that third cylinder home up to 350 miles on one trip and 180 on another. My sled once was down to about 35 mph maximum speed wide open. I told my pals to be patient that my Viper needed to hone itself back to health. Each hour the sled was faster than the next. By the end of the day I was faster than the typical back markers on a trip with 8 guys. I could run 80-90 by the end of the trip. OK enough of the bullshit - back to your Totally Yamaha questions. --Mac--

GARY, JEFF WORKED PARTS DEPT WHEN I KNEW HIM AT RECHARDS WITH A GREAT OLDER GENTLEMAN NAMED HARRY. I DON,T REMEMBER HIS LAST NAME BUT I HEARD HE WAS KILLED IN A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT RIGHT AFTER HE RETIRED. LIKE I SAID THIS PRETTY MUCH WAS BUYING NOS SRX 440 STUFF WITH NO PROBLEMS. MATTER OF FACT, WHEN THE TURBO SCENE HIT I DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS SAME JEFF SIMON. SINSE I HAVE TALKED AFEW TIMES WITH JEFF ABOUT THE OLD STUFF. I DID SEE ALOT OF HIS MOTORS RUN HERE AND THEY WERE FAST, NO DOUBT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
I am NOT SAYING his stuff isnt fast NOR am I trying to BASH HIM... I think his BUSINESS ETHiCS leave a LOT to be desired.... If you consider that BASHING,, thats ON YOU!!! I would much rather you deal with DON if you NEED some WORK or even questions about ANY BIGBORE setup that dealing with JEFF!!! I KEEP HEARING HORROR stories about how a WEEK JOB took a FEW MONTHS!!!! SOME GUYS just HAVE NO BUSINESS in BUSINESS!!! I am ONE OF THOSE GUYS... I had a MOTOR VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP in Chicago when I was 19 years old... I GAVE THE PLACE away and ANY GIRL with NICE LEGS got their car fiXed for FREE (most of the time)!!! I SMOKED DOPE and drank beers and had a BUNCH of money in my pockets!!! I was living the AMERICAN DREAM!!!! 19 years old and on top of the world!!!! It only took a FEW YEARS for the neighboring gas station (who I was taking ALL of his repairwork) to find a corrupt politician to come down on me like a TON OF BRICKS!!! The CITY GAVE ME TICKETS FOR everything and the department of consumer services came by CONSTANTLY to try and cite me for something... I got to be friends with one of the officers because his boss was TARGETING ME and the officer probably felt sorry for me. needless to say, the gas station owner finally found a corrupt FIRE DEPARTMENT official to place a CEASE AND DESIST order on the premesis (my shop) because the building was NOT PERMISSABLE for this type of occupancy... Now,, I HAD the ventilation inspection, building inspection, and FIRE INSPECTION done a FEW YEARS AGO when I first applied for my CITY OF CHICAGO business license.. (you WILL NOT geta license without the 3 inspections) (takes 2 months).. I went to court and the judge told me to PACK MY STUFF and move out.. I said "what about the fire inspection and the license????" he told me to get an attorney and FIGHT THE fire department's ruling!!!! An attorney STARTED AT $5000.00 and I would MUCH RATHER spend the $5000.00 on BOOZE AND GIRLS that some lawyer with a suit and a tie on!!! Needless to say, I went back to school and came up with this GREAT IDEA to work for NASA or JPL or Morton Thiocol or some BIG PLACE like that... I got a CHEMICAL ENGINEERING degree and SOON FOUND OUT that you needed an ACT OF CONGRESS or a FAMILY MEMBER working INSIDE to get a job and a place like that!!! I SUCK at business and I try and prove a point.... You can be the BEST IN THE BUSINESS, but, if you cant run a business,,, WHO CARES HOW GOOD you really are????
 
You can ALSO BE in the TOP of your graduating class and NEVER WORK in the field you just spent 20 GRAND trying to get into!!!!!
 
I suppose the ONLY GOOD THING is YOU CAN FIGHT with people about the BEST oil or NITROUS KITS!!!!!

Gary Oles....you are just too much. When ever I see that you have posted I have to check it out. Once again you havn't disappointed! All I'm gonna add here is that based on my personal experience you are right on the money with the customer service issue. Tell it like it is baby!

I will just say this, if someone here on this site does have a problem with any other manufactures engine and the manufacture of the product wont help you to your satisfaction, drop me a line, I will pick up the ball and run with it for you. Doesnt matter who built it, it usually can be fixed without too much major surgery needed.

See!!!! I told you DON was available and WILLING to help you!!! Yes,,, I had a STARBUCKS ICED VENTI DECAF AMERICANO this morning (with 1/2 and 1/2 and SUGAR). As far as the "nats",,, The challenger ran 10.40's CONSISTENTLY like it was a RENTAL CAR!!!! The reaction times were .037 and .031..... The first round of elimination,, The car ran a 10.42 (10.40 on the window) and the reaction time was .287... Naturally,, if you FALL ASLEEP at the tree,,, YOU LOSE... SO,,, I spent 3 days waiting around in 90+ degree heat, just to LOSE in the FIRST ROUND!!!!! That was ONLY THE SECOND time I had this car out in competetion and the FIRST TIME I caught a RED LIGHT,,, SO,,, By the way I LOOK AT IT,,,, I'm getting BETTER!!!!
 
My thoughts on redlights-"your not trying if you dont redlight every now and then"

The differance between a redlight and a perfect light is a mighty slim margin!!

I have ADHD since I was around 8 or 9 years old.. Caffeine KNOCKS me out and PUTS ME TO SLEEP... SUGAR acts like ROCKET FUEL in my system. so the MIXTURE of CAFFEINE and SUGAR (sports drinks and energy drinks) make me feel like I am DRUNK!!! I could drink a POT OF COFFEE at 10pm and be sleeping about 2 minutes after I finish the last cup. I usually fall asleep everynight 2 or 3 minutes after I jump in the sack.. It PISSES my wife off!!!! She has to lay there for 1/2 hour and roll around while I'm SOUND ASLEEP!!! I DID a LOT OF DRUGS in college to keep the ADHD from FAILING ME (and it worked,,,,i think??????) so MAYBE,,, it's all the drugs I USED TO DO (see how I said USED TO do???) is why I act the way i do!!!!!
 
I found out (someone told me) (when I was 10 YEARS OLD)that I could crush the RITALIN pills and SNORT THEM and it would work better.. so,,,,NATURALLY,,,,when my FATHER found out I was crushing and snorting RITALIN,,,, I got the SNOTS KICKED out of me...Needless to say,,, ME thinks thats where the BRAIN DAMAGE occured!!!
